SJ 80-85cm Results

3 Wylye Valley girls had qualified for the Regional Championships at Bicton Arena on 31st August.
Tallula on Dez, Freya on Custard and Megan on Kash.
There were 2 rounds of showjumping, with the double clears going into the jump off.  It was a busy competition with over 100 competitors.  Freya had an unfortunate 4 faults in each round.  Tallula has 8 faults in the 2nd round.  Megan did a super job with double clear.  The jump off was fast with tight turns.  Megan had great speed but sadly had a pole.  Well done to all the girls, they all deserved to be there and had great team spirit . Novice Challenge SJ Wylye Winners!!

The Wylye Valley Novice SJ team had a hugely successful day at the South West Regional Championships at Bicton Arena on Friday 31st August 2019. Not only did they WIN the competition but two of the team achieved individual placings. The team, consisting of April, Emma, Finlay and Izzy, were a little alarmed when they walked the course for round 2 – the jumps were pretty huge with a few horse frighteners thrown in for good measure. However, this didn’t cause too much of a problem for our girls as at the end of round 2 the Wylye had won the team event by a wide margin on their final score of 4, with the 2nd place team (The Seavington) finishing on 16. Two of our team – April and Finlay – went through to round 3, having jumped double clears in rounds 1 and 2. In the nail biting jump off of 11 competitors, they both produced beautiful clear rounds to finish 3rd (April) and 5th (Finlay) in the individual competition. Very well done to all of you! We thoroughly enjoyed our day at Bicton – the facilities and surroundings are lovely. Thank you to everyone involved with the short notice setting up of this competition. Thank you too, to our team managers Alice Tollworthy and Sian Blackmar, for all your support and encouragement this year. Karla March

AREA SJ 2019

80-85cm Regional Qualifier

On 14th July five Wylye girls went to Leyland Court Equestrian Centre to compete in the Area 14 Regional Qualifier.   There were over 70 competitors, and two rounds of showjumping. The girls had to work hard.
Dot did a fabulous job of warming them up and keeping the nerves to a minimum.
Megan and Tallula did amazingly well to both go double clear, with Freya shortly behind with 4 faults. Gracie and Rosie did a fabulous job but unfortunately had a few poles.  Megan, Tallula and Freya managed to qualify as individuals, with Megan being 3rd overall and so are off to the championships! Well done all, we wish you the very best of luck at Bicton.

Novice Challenge

Wylye’s PC90 riders had a very successful day at the Area Showjumping at Mendip Plains on 28th July.

In the first round 7 of our 8 riders jumped beautiful clear rounds, with the 8th just having one unlucky pole.

In the second round once again the teams jumped well with just the odd pole, but Iris and Sophie managed a second clear round and got into the jump off

The jump off was tense and fast, but the girls kept their cool, with Iris jumping clear once again and managing a fantastic 6th place, and Sophie having just one pole down.

The Wylye Valley Red team finished on just 4 faults, earning them 3rd place and qualifying for the Championships! Well done girls! Sian and Alice

PC Open & PC Intermediate

The weather was kind to our teams competing at Mendip Plains on Sunday 28th July 2019 and the Mendip Farmers Hunt PC did a fantastic job at hosting the Area 14 Qualifiers!

We had a team of 3 for both our PC110 (Open) and PC100 (Intermediate) teams.

PC110 (Open) team: Jodie – individual 4th and Qualified for Champs on Cookie both in the individual competition and a mixed team at Champs! They should have been in the Intermediate team but changed to make a team for our open team. Georgia did a super clear round on Chesney and finished individual 5th .

PC100 (Intermediate) team: Roberta, Ocean & Millie all did lovely clears in the 1st round and finished team 4th Qualifying for Champs!! Millie doing a lovely double clear then needed to go to a jump off (although being at Mendip we had to wait for the cows to come in!) but when the bell rang Millie and Wizard went so fast! Millie won 1st Individual so qualified for Champs as an individual as well.. Absolutely brilliant result and you all deserve your places at Champs! WELL DONE! I was so proud of both our teams. Champs here we come!!  WELL DONE ALL! Sandra
