Sat 29 March: General Rally (Katie) – Askham Bryan Equestrian Centre, YO23 3FR. To include flat, games and jumping. 1.30pm start in staggered rides. Open to all. £16.50 charge. Names to Gill by 28 March.
Sat 29 March: Pentathlon and Pony Club Tetrathlon Training Day – St Peter’s School, Clifton Road, YO30 6AB. £25 for day inc equipment – payment on day. Swimming (only those 7 years and above able to swim unaided), laser/pellet shooting, running, fencing. Take swim kit, long socks, pack up. Book through yorkspentathlon@btinternet.com

Sun 6 April: PC Dressage Series Final – Port Royal. Enter through Port Royal website.
Mon 7 April: Junior Easter Fun Rally – Primrose Hill Farm, Deighton, YO19 6HQ (with thanks to the Tyson Family). 11am start. Open to all 11 years and under. To include Easter egg hunt, decorated egg competition and other things ‘Easter’. No charge. Names to Gill by 3 April.

Fri 11 April: Bedale West of Yore Pony Club Show Jumping and Showing Competition to include Junior Series Qualifiers – Canada Fields, Yafforth, Northallerton DL7 0QA. Details on BWY PC website – enter online through horsevents.co.uk (N.B. not the usual www.horse-events.co.uk ) by 6 April. Junior Series classes are 60cms for 10 yrs & under on 1 Jan 2025, 70cms for 12 yrs & under on 1 Jan 2025, 80cms for 12 yrs & under on 1 Jan 2025. Anyone interested in being in a team, please let Gill know by 4 April, so you can be put together with other YAS members if not already done so. If you make an individual entry, do remember to put down you are a member of YAS.
Sun 13 April: Bedale West of Yore Pony Club Endurance Ride – Thorpe Perrow, Bedale. 10 or 20 kms. Further info through BWY PC.
Sun 13 April: Area 3 Horse & Pony Care Competition – Junior/Senior teams.
Mon 14 April: Cross Country Training with Phil Brown – Epworth Equestrian Centre, Scawcett Lane, Epworth DN9 1LQ. Open to those competing at 90cms and over, with possibility of including confident 80cms riders. 1pm start in small groups for @ 75 minutes per group. £45 per horse. Names to Gill by 11 April at the latest. N.B. This is the venue for the PC Area 3 Eventing in July.
Tues 15 April: Dismounted visit to Consort Equine Therapy (facility run by ex YAS member and vet Amelia Hutchinson) – for demonstrations of water treadmill, acupuncture, long reining and talks about horse first aid, fitness, rehabilitation, obesity, workload variation etc. 2pm for approximately 2 hours. No charge, but a donation towards the MacMillan horse race in York, which Amelia is taking part in, would be appreciated. Foulrice Farm, Brandsby, YO61 4SB. Names to Gill by 12 April.
Thurs 17 April: Cross Country Rally (Karen) – Fair Oaks Farm, Burn, Selby YO8 8LE. 45cms to 90cms inc water. £30 per horse. Open to all able to canter confidently in open spaces. 10.30am start in staggered groups. Remember to bring your back protector. Names to Gill by 14 April. No dogs.
Fri 18 April: Derwent Pony Club Show Jumping Competition to include Junior Series Qualifiers – Bishop Burton College, HU17 8QG. Details on Derwent PC website/facebook. Enter online through www.horse-events.co.uk by 14 April. Further details of Junior Series classes etc as for 11 April.
Sat 19 April: PC Show Jumping Series Final – Port Royal. Enter through Port Royal website.
Sun 27 April: Flatwork Rally (Laura) – Askham Bryan Equestrian Centre, YO23 3FR. 10am start in staggered rides. £16.50 per horse. Priority to be given to those wishing to be considered for Area Dressage Teams, but there will be space for others as well. Names to Gill by 24 April.
Sun 27 April: Area 3 Horse & Pony Care – Mini teams.
Mon 5 May: Day Rally – Escrick Park, YO19 6EA (entrance through Park gates on A19 shortly after Escrick Village. 10.30am start for everyone. Open to all. To include flatwork, show jumping, cross country up to cattle grid. Remember to bring some lunch and your back protector. £25 charge. Names to Gill by 1 May.

Sun 8 June: Bramham Horse Trials PC Mini/Major Show Jumping Demonstration for those 17yrs and above jumping 1.05cms and those 14 yrs and under riding 13.2/14hh ponies jumping 85cms. Members to be contacted separately.
Sun 15 June: PC Area 3 Show Jumping – 90/100/110 – Bishop Burton. Also open show jumping classes from 40cms upwards. Details to follow.
Sun 22 June: PC Area 3 Regional Show Jumping – 70/80 – Port Royal. Details to follow.
