Please remember that the Committee and DC are volunteers, so any help you can give is always welcome. We can always find you a job!

Mounted Games: There is being planned a training/competition with a couple of other groups who are still in the ‘beginning’ stages of Games. This is to be on a Saturday (date tbc) in an indoor school for inexperienced riders, including lead reins. If anyone is interested in taking part (maximum age 13yrs), please give your name to Gill, so we can see if we can make up a team or two!

Thurs 19 March: Flatwork Rally (Shaun) – Askham Bryan.5.30pm start in staggered rides. £16.50 charge. Open to those 9 years and above. Names to Gill by 16 March.

Sun 22 March: General Rally (Rion) – Askham Bryan, YO23 3FR. 1.30pm start in staggered rides depending on numbers. Open to all. £16.50 charge. Names to Gill by 19 March.

Sun 22 March: PC Dressage Series Finals – Port Royal. Enter through Port Royal website.

Mon 23 March: C+ Test Ride Training (N.B. This is no longer a general rally) (Fiona Harrison) – Askham Bryan. Names already taken for this. £16.50 charge. Times in evening to be confirmed.

Sat/Sun 28/29 March: Spring Festival National Final for Show Jumping, Arena Eventing, Dressage. Addington, Bucks. Open to qualifiers from Area 3 competitions. Timetable: Sat 28th: Show Jumping 80 + 110, Dressage 70 + 80. Sun 29th: Show Jumping 70 + 100, Dressage Novice + Music, Arena Eventing 70 + 80, Mon 30th: Show Jumping 90, Dressage Intermediate + Open, Arena Eventing 90 + 100. See earlier in Newsletter.

Sat 28 March: Pentathlon + PC Tetrathlon Training Day – St Peter’s School, York. 9am to 4pm. Swim/laser or pellet shoot/run/fence. Open to all 7 years and over able to swim unaided. £30 including equipment payable in cash on the day. Enter yorkpentathlon@btinternet.com

Sun 29 March: General Rally (Rion) – Askham Bryan. Daytime. Start time tbc. £16.50 charge. Names to Gill by 26 March.

Thurs 2 April: Junior Easter Fun Rally (Rion) – Primrose Hill Farm, Deighton, YO19 6HQ (with thanks to the Tyson family). 11am start. Open to all 10 years and under. To include Easter Egg hunt! No charge. Names to Gill by 29 March.

Fri 3 April: Derwent PC Show Jumping Competition to include Junior Series Qualifiers – Bishop Burton College, HU17 8QG. Details Derwent PC website and www.horse-events.co.uk by 28 March.

Sun 5 April: Bedale PC Endurance Ride and Easter Egg Hunt – Thorpe Perrow, DL8 2PR. 5k to 20k open to all. Further details and entry by 30 March on horsevents or Bedale PC website.

Tues 7 April: C+ Test Ride Training (Fiona Harrison) – Askham Bryan. Morning times tbc. £16.50 charge. Continuation of training from 23 March. Those already training, please confirm attendance. Further C+ ride training to be arranged and C+ test to be booked.

Wed 8 April: General Rally – Askham Bryan. 10.30am start in staggered rides. £16.50 charge. Open to all. Names to Gill by 5 April.

Fri 10 April: Half-day Rally – Northallerton Equestrian Centre, Myers Lane, Yafforth, DL7 0PQ. Please note change of venue and details due to unforeseen circumstances. To include show jumping/flatwork in arenas for all. Cross country 60cms upwards for all wishing to do cross country. Open to all able to ride independently and jumping 60cms and above confidently. Minimum age 9years. Charge £45 (small reduction for anyone not wishing to do cross country). Numbers limited and names to Gill by 6 April unless already full. Café opening tbc!

Sun 12 April: Flatwork Rally (Laura) – Thornton House Farm, Sutton Lane, Barmby Moor, YO42 4DD (adjacent to Allerthorpe Common). Limited time slots for YAS members due to being part of a general Clinic. £16.50 charge. Names to Gill by 7 April.

Mon 20 April: Show Jumping Training (Phil Brown) – Bishop Burton outdoor International Arena). 5.30pm start in small groups. Priority to those confidently jumping 90cms and above. Possible spaces for 80cms. £35 charge. Names to Gill by 16 April.

Sat 25 April: Flatwork Rally (Laura) – Thornton House Farm, YO42 4DD. Details as 12 April. Names by 20 April.

Sun 26 April: Middleton PC – Junior Series Show Jumping Competition. Details to come.

Mon 4 May: Day Rally – Escrick Park, YO19 6EA. (Entrance through Park gates on A19 shortly after Escrick Village). 10.30am start for everyone. Open to all. To include flatwork, show jumping, cross country up to cattle grid, games etc. Remember to bring some lunch and your back protector.

£30 charge. Names to Gill by 30 April.
