Croome Hunt Branch is one of 18 Branches in Area 9 of The Pony Club and has members from Worcester to near Broadway covering an area loosely based on Evesham and Pershore.
We are a very busy branch with at least one training session offered most weeks, sometimes 3 or 4! We are a medium sized Branch with around 80 members from 4 years up to 25 years old.
We are a friendly Branch and small enough so that everyone knows everyone else and large enough to have discipline managers for Show-jumping, Eventing, Dressage and Tetrathlon/Triathlon.
If members are competitive riders then they are encouraged to join teams representing the Branch in all Disciplines with Area (and Championships) competitions being their goal; those not wanting to ride competitively are encouraged to join the Quiz and Horse & Pony Care teams and to enjoy their riding in a non-competitive way.
The highlight of our year is Camp which is open to all ages so there is a good mix of older Members to help with the younger ones; members aged 11 years and over on the first day of Camp stay over, those younger come in daily but their ponies are stabled onsite – Camp is at Lincomb Equestrian (near Stourport) where there are excellent facilities including surfaced and grass arenas, a cross-country course with a good variety of jumps from 1′ up to about 3’6″, areas for Mounted Games and a Farm Ride. The first few days are for instruction (mounted & un-mounted) with the last day as Competition Day when all that the Campers have learnt is put into practice.
