Area 7 Tetrathlon
A blistering hot weekend began early on Saturday morning at Wrekin College for the Area 7 Tetrathlon (incorporating a separate triathlon) competition.
Our seniors all shot, ran and swam well with Charles 2nd; Gil 3rdand Thomas 8th – intermediate boys and Katie 7th open and intermediate girls section.
Our Junior boys, Alex and Hamish were 9th and 10th in their Junior Section and our Junior Girls, Oona, Emelia and Holly were 15th, 14th and 19th.
Thomas was 6th – Mini Boys and Elizabeth was 17th Mini Girls.
Our tadpole boys – Jude and Jonah were 4thand 5th respectively and our tadpole girls – Phoebe, Evie and Harriett were 6th, 7th and 13th respectively. These were all very big classes.
Our beanie boys, Finn, Reuben and George came 3th, 6th and 7th and our youngest Tiddler girl member, Georgia came 5th in her section.
Sunday dawned and all the tetrathletes made their way over to Berriewood Equestrian Centre for the Ride Phase of this competition.

Intermediate Boys – Charles 1st and Gil 5th – Area 7
Intermediate Girls – Katie – 3rd – Area 7
Interemdiate Mixed Team – Charles, Gil and Katie – 1st
Junior Boys – Hamish 1st, Alex 2nd – Area 7
Junior Girls – Emelia 3rd, Oona 4th, Holly 7th– Area 7
Special note of congratulations – to Emelia, Oona and Hamish – there were only three 1400 ride scores for these two sections achieved by our three members – well done.
Junior Girls Team – Area 7 – Emelia, Oona and Holly – 1st
Mini Boys – Thomas was 3rd in the section but 1st for Area 7
Tadpole Girls – Evie was 3rd in her area competition with another 1400 ride score and Phoebe was 6th
Beanie Boys – George was 1st in his area competition and last but not least Georgia was 1st in the Tiddler Girls area competition with a fantastic 1400 ride score.
Well done to everybody this weekend – a special mention must go to our son Charles who has ‘come out of retirement’ to make up a team for the Intermediate competition. At 24 years old, Charles has been through Uni and is now in full time employment as a mechanical engineer. However, his achievement this weekend proves that the skills for this discipline, learnt at an early age and through the school years, are not forgotten and can quite easily (albeit slightly rusty) be refreshed and used again in later years.
