We run Racing Rallies where possible with the very kind support of Wolverhampton Racecourse, which are a fantastic introduction to pony racing.

You must be aged 9 on 1st January in the current year to compete in Pony Club Race Days. Riders can race up until and on the day of their 17th birthday.  However you can attend training/rallies/taster sessions at a younger age.

Races are usually split into pony height categories – 128 and under, 138 and under, 148 and under.  Occasionally there may be different categories too such as beginner, novice, intermediate etc.

Ponies and riders must be qualified to enter races which means they need to have attended a minimum of two ridden group rallies of one hour in duration. The ridden activity to take place in a wide open space; or attended a minimum of one (passed) PRA/PC Training Day since 1st July.

Race Days are a great opportunity for members to take part in competitive racing mainly on a licenced racecourse.

A PRA Taster Session is held before races at each Pony Club Race Day. These are the perfect opportunity to come along to a Race Day, learn more about pony racing, and witness how the day runs before attending a Race Day with your pony. These must be entered prior to attending and can be done so by clicking here.  You can attend these from the age of 7.

Race Days are a fantastic experience for pony club members, getting a chance to experience weighing in, walking round the parade ring etc just like real jockeys.  For a current list of Race Days click here.
