Unfortunately, rule 3(b) has been omitted from the 2019 Showjumping rule book. This rule was carried over from 2018 and is still current and it should be enforced. It reads as follows:

“3(b) Hair: In the interests of safety, long hair must be secured appropriately in a hairnet.”

It has been pointed out that the wording below (highlighted in yellow) has been omitted from the 2019 Show Jumping rulebook.

IMPORTANT Open Dressage 2019 Test – Rule Book version

It has come to light that the above test is incorrect in the Dressage Rule Book. All other versions on www.pcuk.org and through Harry Hall are correct, it is only the Rule Book that has the error. Apologies for any confusion.

Janet Good & Margaret Auld retire from East Herts Hunt.

After more than 30 years of volunteer service to the East Hertfordshire Hunt Branch Janet Good and Margaret Auld have stepped down from their roles of District Commissioner (DC) and Chief Instructor.  Since 1988, when she became DC, Janet has has overseen the running of the Branch and has provided several generations of members with fun, friendship and equestrian opportunities.  Her grand-daughters are now active members!  Margaret, who has her Pony Club ‘A’ test, joined as Branch Secretary in 1974, has instructed, organised Camp and been a committed Chief Instructor over many, many years.  Countless members have benefited from her wide knowledge and experience.  They have both upheld the high standards of The Pony Club, encouraged and supported so many and have fostered the very special team spirit throughout the Branch.  They have also contributed much to the running of Area 12, of which East Hertfordshire Hunt is a part.  They will be greatly missed, and we hope that they will always be on hand to offer their advice, experience and support to the Branch’s new DC and committee in their new roles as Honorary Presidents of the Branch.  Trish Griffiths takes over from Janet as the new DC.  Trish has been a committee member for many years, after her own daughter grew up enjoying the fun and friendship fostered within East Hertfordshire.  She has held a number of roles on the committee over the years and has been the Branch Assistant DC for the last year.

From Mary Tuckett

When you think of East Herts you immediately think of Janet and Margaret. They have been such a big part of the branch for so many years.

Janet has upheld the very best of the pony club and has not been frightened to express her opinion and act in the very best interests of  all branch members.

Margaret has been a stalwart of the training and testing of members.  Again she has ensured the tack turnout and knowledge is of the very highest standard.
