Tetrathlon is a fun, sociable and athletic Pony Club sport involving a shoot, swim, run and cross country riding phase.

Taking part in Tetrathlon is a recognised pathway to the Olympic Sport of Modern Pentathlon (see Pentathlon GB )
At the Belvoir we have active teams in the younger age groups: U8 / Mini / Junior and Senior age groups and there are competitions throughout the year across Area 6 – East Midlands.
The 2020 rule book explains the different phases and has a useful set of points tables for all the phases at the back, it can be downloaded for free as a pdf – click link here – or can be bought for £3.50

With regards to rules there were some key changes for 2019:
Shoot 0.177 target air pistols under supervision from 8 years old. (branch loan guns are available on request) – eye protection must now be worn in all 7m shooting, see rule book for info.
Swim as far as they can in a given time, 2 or 3 minutes, to gain points per metre.
Run 1000 or 1500m , their running time converts to points.
Ride a XC course, where they aim for a max score of 1400 points, minus any deductions for stops etc.
Beanies : U8 40cm , Tadpoles: 8&9 60cm , Minis: 11&U 80cm
Junior 14&U : 90cm, Open U25: 1m ( there are options to jump a lower height XC just ask)
Pony Club Triathlons are organised over the Winter ( Shoot / Swim / Run)

Branch Guns are available for loan to get you started, but if you compete regularly you will find it better to buy your own gun.
