Another great Area competition for Burton.
Spring Championships Area SJ qualifier today at Kenwick, with Burton very well represented having 6 members who made it through the preliminary rounds to compete today.
Classes were all huge – (48 in the 85cm, 34 in the 95cm), the course was big & technical for every class – but that didn’t hold us back!
Top 10 placings for Laura, Molly W, Molly JC, Layla & Freddie.
Layla & Freddie both qualifying for the 85cm (top 7 in each class qualified). Freddie & Molly JC qualifying for the 95cm. Only 11 competitors went through to the jump-off for the 95cm, 3 of those were Burton members – an astounding achievement.
Molly W agonisingly just out of the qualifying spots – gaining an 8th & 9th place in her classes.
Top 10 placings also for Laura in the 80cm warm-up class & Molly JC in the Open Grand Prix
A very successful day all round. Go Burton!

Saturday 11th February
A long day of mixed results.
Arena Eventing was fantastic with all of the team completing well over a big, technical course and huge entries in each class.
Molly W finishing 12th in the 100, Molly JC 13th in the 90, Freddie & Layla jumping super clears – but rather too speedy – in the 80, both finishing in the top 20. The team finished in a great 10th place out of 24 teams.
The show-jumping in the afternoon was a mammoth question. A huge, full-up 1m course and a class of over 90 entries. Unfortunately, we didn’t make the jump-off with any members (only 29 did). Molly JC had the best round with just 4 faults and the team are currently in 10th place with Freddie & Layla still to jump again tomorrow – best of luck you two!
A fabulous competition, lots of fun, lots learned & a great team day out.
Sunday 12th February
A great finish for Layla at the Spring Championships with a 12th place in the Debut Championship. 86 entries, 31 through to the jump-off – a fantastic result.
Sadly a slightly off-colour pony meant Freddie had to withdraw, also meaning that Burton were unable to complete as a team.
Next year!!
A brilliant weekend with some outstanding results for the whole team.
Thank you to all who worked so hard to get the team there – people & ponies – & especially to manager Jo for pulling it all together.
Onwards now to the Summer Championships campaign.

Great fun had by everyone and brilliant teamwork.

Some brilliant performances at Area showjumping today. Lucy and lilly turned in some fantastic riding round a very tricky and large 1 metre course and just missed out qualifying.
The 90cm competitors again turned in some excellent performances with Lilly and Layla doing a double clear and Molly W, Laura and Freddie turned in some amazing strong performances but just missing places this time.
Great effort from Ruby and Katie but not their day today.
The highlight of the day were two brilliant performances from Isabella W and Sophie B around the 70cm class who both went double clear and came 5th and 7th respectively and both qualified for the regional championships. They had already qualified to do dressage and now show jumping.
Brilliant result to all

Burton members were out in force again this weekend at area horse trials. Despite the gale force winds, slanting rain and hail there were still some amazing performances.
In the 80cm Katie won her dressage arena but her horse not feeling herself in the jumping. Freddie did a lovely test and a clear showjumping but his pony not so keen on the water but completed finishing 11th. Molly Barley did a super job of all disciplines coming 8th overall and completed which was her main aim. A great feat as she was soaked from the storm just before she went xc!
The 90cm team did some lovely tests. With lilly and Helena winning in their arenas . Molly JC, lilly and Helena all rode fantastic but all had an unfortunate refusal xc.
Molly Wylde did a very smart test and double clear finishing 5th and has qualified eventing at championships. Well done Molly.
Erin in the 70 did a super test and a lovely clear sj but the wind and heavy rain distracted them for one fence. Such a pity as she was doing so well. Overall a great if wet weekend out.

Well they only went and did the treble. Seniors 5th at zones qualifying for the main champs. Highest place Burton Seniors have ever achieved. Juniors amazing with 4th place and off to the junior champs, again the highest i can remember Burton Juniors coming. Then a fantastic 4th for Oli and Charlie securing their place at the pairs champs! A respectable 10th in the pairs for Molly and Ruby. Well done to everyone for working do hard in such horrible weather.

A fabulous 12th place in their session for our junior games team at the pony club championships today. The first Burton Junior Team to go there that I can remember and only their first year training together!

After a nail biting run off against fellow Area 6 team South Notts, which SN narrowly won, the Burton came away in 10th place from the Pony Club Championships. Another personal best for Burton!

Great to see Ollie and Rosie in action today, playing a match of polocrosse at the Pony Club Championships.
A very busy day juggling polocrosse with the mounted games senior competition for Ollie (and Mum)!
Very exciting! Well done!

Amazing day at championships for the dressage team. The team of Helena, Molly, Lily and Katie got placed 4th out of 32 teams. Only one point off 3rd place and being on the podium.
Helena rode superbly to win her arena and came 2nd in her warm up test and Lily came 4th in her arena and she also did a dressage to music class where she came a brilliant 5th place. A real team effort for our first team dressage at championships for a long time.

Another great day at PC Championships for the Burton Hunt Pony Club. Molly for 90 eventing did a lovely test and clear showjumping on Thursday to go into cross country day today in 6th place out of 42. She had an unlucky run out at one fence but did a super clear otherwise so out the places but an outstanding performance around a difficult track.
The horse and pony care team of Isabella, Beth and Jessica put up a strong knowledgeable performance to finish 8th out of 44 teams. An awesome result for a national competition.

Wow! What a lovely day at the Regional Pony Club Championships in Norfolk!
Cara and Isabella did Burton proud in the dressage with Nemo and Lance. Great achievement for you both.
Then Isabella and Ruby went on to do the PC70 showjumping, two very determined and speedy rounds resulted in a double clear taking them into the jump off. Again they were on a mission but were unlucky and rolled a couple of poles.
You both did great! Very well done both of you!
