Year of the Horse International Exchange to Hong Kong and China

In September I was lucky enough to go on the trip of a lifetime to Hong Kong and mainland China for 2 weeks representing The Pony Club with 5 other senior members from across the UK and Northern Ireland. We were hosted by The Pony Clubs of Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, and Jinhua, who all looked after us superbly and made an action-packed itinerary that was full of culture, food, and horses.

The trip included meeting members, visiting iconic sites and experiencing local culture. We had the opportunity to compete with local members in show jumping, horse care, and dressage as well as running mounted games and polocrosse sessions for members. During the visit to Shanghai, I was asked to do a presentation on how The Pony Club has influenced my long-term development and education to members and their parents.

It was an incredible experience, with an amazing group of people and I’m thankful to The Pony Club for giving me the opportunity.
