With camp 2024 well and truly behind us BCF committee are already looking forward and planning camp 2025.
After a lengthy discussion within the whole committee some rules for BCF Senior residential camp 2025 have changed.
Senior camp will be Mon 4th August to Thurs 7th August 2025.
Camp this year will be in BLOCK C and will be £350 per camper. It will be 3 1/2 days – 3 nights. Two bales of shavings and haylege included for duration of stay for horse/pony – if you prefer to bring your own hay please speak to nicky or Lindsay (more shavings will be available pre camp at an extra cost)
All horses/ponies must hold a passport and be fully up-to-date with their vaccinations. Somerford ask for vaccinations to be within 12 months and are strict on this requirement. All passports will be checked prior to camp.
Campers will be fed and watered for the duration of camp. Please let us know if any known allergies.
NO MOBILE PHONES AT CAMP- there will be use of a mobile for any campers wishing to call home or vice versa at any point of camp.
Eligibility
Residential 3 Day Campers must be about to enter school year 7, Sept 2025, or above, upper age limit 25yr. All riding levels will be grouped according to age and experience. must Be 11yrs + (starting year 7 in September 2025 min no max age)
Campers must be able to care for and tack up their horse/pony independently.
Attended minimum TWO working rallies between Jan 2025 and June 2025 on the horse/pony you intend to bring PLUS New rule – Campers MUST attend the July working rally. This will be an assessment rally for you to be allocated your ride groups.
Attended minimum TWO XC rallies held in June/July 2025
ALL campers AND a parent/ guardian MUST attend the Pre Camp meeting.
If the you cannot attend the above riding elements you will be placed on a wait list. Only campers who have completed all of the above and paid in full will be guaranteed a camp place.
Camp format will be also change with senior campers and horses/ponies coming into camp on the morning of Mon 4th August 2025. More details will follow nearer to camp.
Junior camp 2025
This will run from the morning of Tue 5th August to Wed 6th August alongside senior camp in BLOCK C
This will remain a non residential camp at a cost of £175 per camper. Ponies will stay overnight and be cared for. Campers will be fed for the duration of the two days. Campers will finish/leave camp at 430pm approx
This is open to all those who want to come. Any age or ability.
Eligibility requirements will be:-
Must have attended minimum TWO working rallies PLUS compulsory July 2025 rally (as senior camp above)
Any older member wishing to join senior camp but not wishing to be residential WILL need to also have attended TWO XC rallies (as per senior camp) this does not apply to mini campers.
We have limited places and once camp is full there will be a wait list opened.
A non refundable deposit of £50 will reserve a place
XC training dates will be on BCF calendar.
We ask that campers provide/share tents.
