We have just over 60 members, ranging from 4 years old to 19 years old. We cover all activities to do with learning to ride, horse care and stable management. We cover activities for all ages groups including badge and Test rallies on a regular basis throughout the year. These promote the basics of learning to ride and stable management, aiming to increase confidence in all aspects of horse riding and care whilst having fun. Our Branch also hold clinics covering all three main disciplines: dressage, showjumping and cross country. We have a very active Mounted Games group who meet regularly to practice and compete throughout the year. For all members, we hold an annual camp, an awards night and fun rides on Exmoor.
Our rallies and camps are held at local equestrian centres such as Pontispool, Stockland Lovell , Bicton and Chard. We also hold many rallies at private facilities dotted round our area, aiming to reduce the distance we have to travel. There are plenty of opportunities to take part in teams in pony club competitions, whether it is 30cm showjumping or 100cm. We always enter teams in our Area 15 competitions in dressage, showjumping and eventing and of course, Mounted Games.
A number of older members are well supported in our Club and now working towards further training to enable them to teach via the Pony Club Steps Syllabus.
