The Pony Club offers so many activities both non ridden and ridden and there can be a lot to discover! This page highlights useful information to get started, the Branch Committee are also on hand to help everyone with questions and offer guidance.

DRESS CODE FOR DEVON & SOMERSET PONY CLUB RALLIES AND COMPETITIONS

For our rallies we ask our members to wear a Pony Club tie and Sweatshirt.  When representing our pony club for dressage/show jumping/eventing a tweed jacket or blue/black show jacket to be worn. Please also adhere to below:-

  • Hat to be tagged (pink label) to show it conforms to current Pony Club standards (see below).
  • Hat silk can be black, brown or navy blue
  • Hats for all cross country riding over fences of 80cm and mounted games must be a jockey skull cap with no fixed peak. This is also recommended for cross country riding over lower fences
  • Hair net must be worn for long hair
  • No jewellery should be worn.
  • White shirt with Pony Club tie
  • Pony Club badge and felt
  • Jodphurs should be white, beige, navy, black or brown
  • Clean jodphur boots with clips or chaps/riding boots
  • Gloves, black, brown, navy or cream must be worn
  • Body protectors remain optional for Pony Club Members except when jumping cross country fences when they are mandatory (see below)
  • Tack should be in good repair, well fitting and clean
  • Numnahs should be plain white, navy blue, brown or black.
  • For Team events, our club holds a number of Red/White Hat silks (for cross country) and white numnahs.
  • Mounted Games – we have designed some jumpers for mounted games riders and keen parents which can be worn at games training, or pairs competitions.

Members Insurance

Every Member receives insurance cover from Howden Insurance Brokers Ltd, to protect Members whilst taking part in Pony Club and other equestrian activities. You will find information below about the insurance cover and it is strongly recommended that Parents, Guardians and Members review the information regarding the insurance policy provided.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and The Pony Club take Safeguarding very seriously. The Safeguarding Policy signposts a range of documents, provides guidance and key contacts to support those who may have concerns about a vulnerable child, young person or adult. The Branch Safeguarding Officer is available to discuss immediate concerns and you can visit the Resource Hub to find all the relevant documents.
