Welcome to East Down’s Tetrathlon pages

Do something different!

Tetrathlon is a bit different from other Pony Club disciplines.  It’s a 4-phase competition comprising Riding, Shooting, Swimming and Running.  It will test your equestrian skills as well as your speed, endurance, accuracy and courage!

The Shoot involves target shooting with air pistols. The Swim takes place in a pool and involves distance swimming for around 3 minutes.  The Run is cross country, usually over a distance of between 1km and 3km.  The Ride is an exhilarating cross-country course.

It’s challenging but it’s also friendly, welcoming and fun.  You’ll be fitter, faster and stronger than you’ve ever been.  You’ll make friends from other Pony Clubs across Area 17 and the UK and you’ll get plenty of chances to compete regionally, nationally and internationally.

Classes are based on age on 1 January:
