The East Down Branch of the Pony Club is one of several vibrant branches within Area 17 in Northern Ireland. We run regular training sessions and rallies throughout the year and have teams & individuals competing in the disciplines of Eventing, Games, Polocrosse, Show Jumping, Dressage, and Tetrathlon.
We pride ourselves on our friendly, diverse, and approachable ethos and we like to have fun as well as competing at a local and national level.
Our members often combine Pony Club with affiliated disciplines such as Dressage Ireland, SJAI, and Eventing Ireland. For the past 3-4 years members of East Down Branch have represented Ireland in Eventing and Show Jumping at the highest level.
We welcome all levels and abilities and aim to encourage every member to become knowledgeable about all aspects of horsemanship. We run regular workshops (the East Down Academy) that promote horsemanship and equestrian knowledge.
We do not have a single base but use a variety of local equestrian centres in the County Down area which is a centre for excellence in the equestrian world, we have outstanding instructors and venues.
Members age ranges from tots to 25 years old and we warmly welcome new members all year round. We aim to have something for everyone here at East Down.
