ESPC Winter Pairs Mounted Games – Bodiam
😀 Absolutely buzzing after Winter Pairs at Bodiam last Sunday. It was fabulous having ESPC represented in all three age sections, 5 Novice, 2 Junior and 2 Senior pairs competed against Area 11 Branch members.
👏👏Shout out to our amazing volunteer helpers, our unsung heroes who give up their day to pull it all together, THANK YOU Jane Brian-Davis, Nicky Powell and Rosie Powell. Special thanks to all the parents, siblings, family and friends who step up to arena party, a major part of mounted games and a great way to get to know each other.
🦄 Novice Lead Rein Pairs
*Tallulah & Hector paired up for their second year together – smiles galore in the hobby horse/dinosaur rope race!
*Annie P & Charlotte took 2nd place despite an over excited Misty proving 33years young isn’t slowing her down! Annie is demonstrating great technique, mum Ami working hard to keep up!
*Edi was thrilled to be riding in her first competition having turned three this summer, she was ably supported by brother Henry
🎠 Novice Solo/Minimal Assistance Pairs
*Ellie & Annie G did an amazing job riding independently – girls you smashed it, rewarded with a 2nd place
*Millie & Summer also had a go at riding solo, their confidence and accuracy increasing as the competition progressed. Bending was an exciting, speedy highlight. Keep up the fabulous work girls
🐴 Junior Pairs
*Elise & May were keen to build upon their awesome Area performance. Elise demonstrated great control & balance in ‘ride and run’, confidently kicking Fudge on, without her stirrups for a photo finish. May & Alf are a new combination while Jaz has some time off for treatment. Thank you Henry for selflessly sharing the amazing Alf. May began to embrace Alfs speed as her confidence grew and her competitive spirit surfaced. Together the awesome foursome rode into 2nd place.
*Connie on Millie & Eden on Robbie faced challenges during the heats when their ponies were having too much of a good time! Both persevered in the Finals and finished with broad smiles and more relaxed ponies, great job girls! This was Connie and Edens first games competition on these ponies and for Robbie is was his first ever games party! Safe to say both combinations have bright games futures together.
🏇 Senior Pairs
*Natalie on her beloved Diva & Henry on the amazing Alf won 4 of their 6 final senior races, earning them 1st place – magnificent! This pair go from strength to strength, having had a phenomenal season. They have been games partners since 2019, in 2023 they moved up to juniors. The skies the limit for this pair who officially are Seniors in 2025, they definitely have the MG bug big time!
*Lily & Amelia are a pair to watch in the coming months. Lily confidently rode a rather bouncy Fairy with great sensitivity. It was fabulous to see the progress in Lily’s riding since last years pairs. Amelia and Treacle only started games a couple of training sessions ago but both have taken to it like ducks to water!
🤩 It’s so satisfying being a part of our members games journey across the weeks, months and years – learning from the bumps to fully appreciate the highs. There’s no better feeling than seeing it all come together 💝
🫵 Come join the fun!!!
