If any member needs to order Black Poloshirts, please let Iona know by THIS FRIDAY 28th June.

The Red Sweatshirts are on order and should be delivered in the next week or so.

Please do not leave until last minute as Iona does not always have all sizes in stock.

What to Wear at Pony Club

Just to remind parents/ guardians what the members should wear at Pony Club competitions etc.

It  would be a good idea for them to refer to the discipline rue books for further information. When representing the Flint & Denbigh Hunt Branch – tweed jackets are preferred. Our XC colours are Red hat silks & black tops.

Area 5 Shooting Range Officer Course

It will shortly be necessary for anyone delivering PC shoot training for their Branch to have a Range Conducting Officer Qualification (RCO). The emphasis is on safety but some shoot skills will be covered.

Area 5 are offering this course on Sunday July 28th 9.45am until 4pm in Pen y Ffordd Village Hall, Flintshire. CH4 0JZ. The cost is £50 per candidate. Please book online at https://www.horse-events.co.uk/horse-events/range-conducting-officer-rco-course

(You do not need a Pony Club number but will probably need to enter a pony name)

All equipment will be supplied.

Summer Tetrathlons

Good Luck to everyone who is taking part in the Mini International competition on 29 & 30 June.

The best place to find out about other Tetrathlons across the country is: https://teamup.com/kshpb2vii6tawm7hdx

  • On 27 & 28 July the International Exchange starts at the Irish Tet champs at Punchestown, Republic of Ireland.
  • This is followed on 2-4 Aug by the Senior Intenational and International Exchange at Necarne Castle, Northern Ireland.
  • Then on 9-11 Aug the Tetrathlon Championships and International Exchange are at Offchurch Bury.

Good luck to everyone taking part, and remember that if you’re not going to be there you should be able to see the scores come in on Pony Club Results.

Area 5’s next competition is the Triathlon on 19 October in Mold.

Berwyn and Dee Mounted Games Competition – Results

It was a warm one for our 18 members who represented Flint & Denbigh at the Berwyn & Dee Mounted Games 2-day friendly competition at the weekend.

  • Catrin Morgan, Zoë James, Alys Evans, Megan Evans and Elis Roberts made up the unassisted junior novice team. Their hard work and practicing over the past few months really paid off to take the win, with an impressive 40+ points ahead of 2nd place!!

We had 3 teams competing in the assisted junior novice competition, with 3 of those members only 4 years old!

  • A huge well done to Evelyn Warner, Joseff James, Anni Morgan and Nansi Evans who were in the team that came out on top in this section.
  • The Dragons, consisting of Tom Bowen, Finley Eastwood, Jac Dixon, Enlli Davies and Ella Wood came 4th.
  • The youngest F&D team, the Diamonds, made up of Ioan James, Harri Morgan, Hugo Mayne and Ifan Johnson were a brilliant 6th place.

Over and above all, the children (and adults!) had a fantastic weekend with their friends and ponies. Lots of ice cream was consumed and members enjoyed dancing to the silent disco with the other branches on the Saturday evening. A big thank you to our coach, Joe, for his dedication to the training and encouragement throughout the competition, and to the parents and volunteers for their continued support.
