Welcome to Garth South Pony Club!
I’m Rachel, your District Commissioner, and I’m delighted to introduce you to our friendly and thriving club. Garth South Pony Club is home to over 100 members aged 2–25, all of whom take part in a wide variety of activities—from rallies and competitions to tests and our much-loved annual camp. Whether just starting out or progressing through the levels, our members are supported every step of the way.
We are especially proud to offer monthly working rallies with our dedicated instructors. These sessions are subsidised by the branch, making them accessible and affordable for all ages and abilities, while also giving members the chance to train regularly and enjoy riding with friends. Alongside these, we run specialist rallies focusing on the nine Pony Club sports. Garth South has a strong reputation for excellence in Showjumping, Eventing, Dressage, Polocrosse, Tetrathlon, and Pony Racing, with active training programmes and competitive teams across these disciplines.
The Pony Club has long been a starting point for many equestrian team members, equine professionals, and medal winners—and Garth South is particularly proud of its contribution. Our branch has produced more Badminton Horse Trials competitors than any other, a testament to the strength of our training and the dedication of our members and supporters.
We are also delighted to see former members continuing to succeed at the highest levels, including Lauren Innes, who is currently competing at the top of the sport in Eventing. Her journey reflects what Pony Club is all about—building strong foundations, confidence, and ambition.
At the heart of Garth South is our commitment to training and education. We aim to develop not only riding ability, but also a deep understanding of horse care, equine welfare, and rider safety. Most importantly, we want our members to gain lifelong skills, lasting friendships, and a genuine enjoyment of being part of the Pony Club community.
