Grove summer camp week 1 or 2

Grove camp is held on the beautiful Osberton estate each year, we build our own pony club metropolis for a summer camp to remember. We include temporary stables for our four legged friends, bringing in hay & straw for their stay. We have our own cafe on site to start the day with hot sandwiches to purchase. Lunch is made and served by Emily from Thaymars cafe consisting of a two course feast every day Monday – Thursday to provide plenty of rider fuel (included in the camp fee).

Mini’s (typically aged 4-6 yrs) join in for a introduction to camp for those on the lead or assisted riders that require a parent to stay with them. This camp runs Tuesday to Thursday alongside the full camp with shorter days for shorter legs.

Our junior (typically aged 6-14 yrs) riders enjoy Monday to Friday with two lessons per day (Monday to Thursday) and a show day on the Friday for family and friends to come and watch the progress they have made with their coaches.

Senior riders (age 15 yrs plus or at C+ test level or above) have a more flexible camp for two days with a lesson by lesson schedule to suit the individuals needs.

Friday is fun day and show day – each group will decide with their coach what event they wish to showcase to their friends & family. Previous years have enjoyed Showcross, mini major show jumping, musical dressage performances and cross country rounds. Dressing up or show gear is essential on Fridays. We also have a photographer during the week to capture those moments that you will want to see.

The day starts at 8am with your mucking out, preparing hay nets for the day, tack cleaning and getting ready for an action packed rider schedule. Groups are decided by coaches – ability matched as much as possible. Rider assessments are required for new members or those who are a new combination pre-camp please. We have a wide range of ages here at Grove and new friends will be made quickly. The day finishes by 4pm ponies should be resting and fed, riders are tired ready for home and coaches deserve a glass of something cold!!!!

Please note skull caps and body protectors to current standards are required for camp for all riders and vaccination records are required for inspection at pony check in each week.

For further information please speak to your coach at the next rally and keep an eye on our Facebook page for date releases, payment deadlines, equipment lists and activity ideas.
