Endurance

What is endurance?
A ride usually over open country along a specified route for a set distance with specific speed requirements. You will be issued with a number bib and a map of the route. The route will be marked with spray paint or ribbons. There will be check points along the route at which you must ensure stewards record your number. Most rides require ponies to be vetted before and after the ride. This will be a simple trot up and or a heart rate taken before and after ride. There are five levels ranging from 8 km to 50 km to be completed at different speeds. A master card will be presented to each rider/pony combination to be completed and taken to each different ride to mark distances and times on. Children 5-12 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Each adult can be responsible for up to 4 children riders. Medical armbands must be worn by all pony club riders on course. All ponies or horses must be 5 years old or over. Pony club endurance championships are held each year in Delamere Forest, Cheshire.

A big well done to the  Meynell Endurance Team who all rode in the next class distance up of 32km yesterday at Cannock Chase EGB competition and completed in a fast time and all passed the vetting. Any one wanting to join us Emma Conway 07970827731
