Rally dress code

NHHPC Branch Guidelines for Rider and Pony wear for Training and Rallies 2019

RIDER WEAR

  Training

  • Well fitted, tagged hat without fixed peak complying with PCUK rules (please see pcuk website for standards). Please note that the current PC hat-tag colour is aquamarine.
  • Hair must be tied up in a neat bun or a hair net must be worn if longer than collar length.
  • Long sleeved top – plain coloured, ideally NHHPC sweater
  • Plain dark (black/brown/navy) jodhpurs
  • Clean, plain brown or black jodhpur boots with long riding socks, plain chaps or jodhpur clips/elastic
  • Strictly no earrings, watches, jewellery or make-up to be worn
  • No hooded garments are to be worn
  • Plain navy or black hat silk – no pom-poms please.

Rallies (as above plus the following)

  • Plain dark (black/brown/navy) jodhpurs or beige/cream jodhpurs
  • White shirt and Pony Club tie, or branch polo shirt
  • Branch sweatshirt or coat/jacket (without hood)
  • Clean, plain brown or black jodhpur boots with long riding socks, plain chaps or jodhpur clips/elastic

 

TACK AND PONY

 Plain, supple, clean and tidy tack that is brown or black

  • Well fitted bridle – check fitting and stitching very carefully, particularly reins
  • Reins must be attached to the bit by a leather buckle or billet.
  • Well fitted Saddle with plenty of room
  • Plain saddle cloth or numnah.
  • Navy, brown or black girth.
  • Stirrup irons must be at least 1.4cm wider than boots (check by placing a finger each side of the widest part of the boot when in the stirrup)
  • Ponies need to be clean and tidy, with hoofs picked out
  • They do not need to be plaited.

 

Rallies (in addition to above)

  • Plain white/navy saddle cloth with branch logo
