Rally Dress Code

The main aim of the Pony Club dress code is to ensure the safety and comfort of your child and pony. Newcomers are not expected to immediately arrive in branded clothing, similarly coloured items are perfectly acceptable.

We have a Whatsapp group dedicated to the trade of second hand items.

Brand new items are available at Hardy Equestrian.

  • When mounted at Pony Club activities, members should wear beige, cream, navy or black jodhpurs, with a branch T shirt, sweatshirt or coat(or similar)
  • Only standard riding or jodhpur boots (black or brown) with a fairly smooth, thin sole and a well defined square cut heel may be worn.
  • Plain black or brown half chaps may be worn with jodhpur boots of the same colour. Tassels and fringes are not allowed. No other footwear will be allowed.
  • Hair should be contained in a hair net.
  • Gloves to be black, brown, navy or cream.
  • Absolutely no hoodies to be worn when mounted.
  • All hats must be without a fixed peak and to the standards detailed below. All suitable hats will be fitted with an aquamarine hat tag upon checking by a branch official, which will then be displayed clearly for the future. A plain navy hat silk, or the branch coloured silk may be worn. Please note that from the 1st January 2023, the following hat standards will no longer be accepted, due to the age of hats made to these standards, so if buying a new hat this year be aware that some are about to go ‘out of date’

Reins must not be so long that they hang in a loop near the rider’s foot.  Freejump Stirrups are NOT permitted. Stirrups should be of the correct size to suit the rider’s boots. They must have 7mm (¼”) clearance on either side of the boot. Plain brown or black girth with a plain saddle pad or numnah, ideally white or navy blue.
