About North Warwickshire Pony Club:

The North Warwickshire Pony Club (NWPC) is a friendly branch of The Pony Club and is one of the 19 branches which form Area 7. You can find out more about Area 7 on their website (button arrow).

Our members come largely from villages and towns stretching from Rugby to Coventry across to Solihull and down towards Stratford, including Southam, Leamington Spa, Kenilworth, Henley in Arden, Daventry and Warwick.

Activities:

On the Activities page you will find information about all the activities we have on offer.

On the Calendar you will find not only branch activities but also all the Area qualifying competition and training dates.

Take a look at the Area 7 website to see competitions on offer from other branches within our Area.

Looking for Championship dates? Then these can be found on the Calendar too.

The Committee:

The committee meets as a minimum 4 times a year and is made up of District Commissioner (DC), 2 joint Assistant District Commissioners (ADC’s), Secretary, Treasurer, Health and Safety Officer and Safeguarding Officer plus a few co-opted parents with interests in different areas within the branch.

Volunteers:

Volunteering is crucial to the running of the branch and all its activities.  All members of the committee including the DC carry out their roles for free. So parental help is vital and as such we expect parents/guardians to help at least twice a year.

We understand that everyone leads busy lives but hopefully you can find some time to help. There are many areas in which you might like to get involved, such as being a rally organiser, training coordinator or as a sport manager. If these seem a little daunting there is a job to suit everyone whether your skills are horsey or not – admin, IT, baking, first aid, to name but a few.

Please speak to a member of the committee to find out how you can help.

Fundraising:

We are conscious that branch activities are kept affordable to parents.  To facilitate this, it is our policy to subsidise all coaching costs whenever possible.  Activity fees are generally set to cover the cost of the venue with only a small amount towards the cost of the coaching.  Unfortunately, only a small proportion of the membership fee comes to the branch, which means to balance the books we need to run at least 4 fundraising events per year.  These events can only run with the help of parents and older members.  The events are not only a fundraising exercise but are also a great way to be part of a team and make friends.

The Branch run events for the year can be found on the Calendar, so put the dates in your diary so that you are available to help.

We are also always looking for sponsors for these events so if you think you can help or know of a business who might like some extra publicity, then please contact our Sponsorship Coordinator to discuss.

Our Values:

Be kind, considerate and respectful to all people and ponies.

We want every member of our branch to enjoy their membership, so we ask you to follow the Pony Club codes of conduct.

We respectfully ask parents to give the coaches space to carry out their role and follow our guidance.
