Horse and Pony Care – Date 1st May 2023

This features teams of three Pony Club Members who demonstrate their knowledge both theory and practical taken from The Pony Club Efficiency Tests over a number of rounds (no riding involved).

There is a “Mini”, “Junior” and a “Senior” competition.

Minis to be 10 years and under on 1st Jan. One member must be 8 years or under on 1st Jan. Members will be tested on efficiency tests E to D and the easier parts of D+.

Juniors to be 13 years and under on 1st Jan. One member must be 11 years or under on 1st Jan. Members will be tested on efficiency tests D to C.

Seniors to be 14 years and over on 1st Jan. One member to be 16 years or under on 1st Jan 2020. Members will be tested on efficiency tests C+ to AH.

Senior and Junior teams will make their way around a number of “stations” where they will have 10 mins to answer theory questions or complete practical tasks.

As most members already work towards efficiency tests there is a good competition to do as most members are already working towards these tests.

Rosettes to placed teams and the winning team qualifies for a championships in August.
