The current Pony Club Show Jumping rules can be found here.

We look forward to see lots of you jumping in the near future, hope the points below will help you. Fern Dogger organises Show Jumping competition entries, with Jane Cobb selecting riders and teams and organising training. If you are interested in Show Jumping for the branch please contact Sam or Fern and look out for regular training sessions that are on the branch calendar.

Your children need to be seen jumping if not known to Jane or a designated trainer before entering a team.

There are hard copies of the Showjumping rule book available for £3 each; or use the link at the top of this page to view on line – you must read the rules!

Fern will send out schedules to those who have told her they are interested.  Each competition will have a closing date clearly stated and please let Fern know asap if you are interested in competing in a particular event.  Payment must be received BEFORE the closing date stated on the list so teams can be organised well in advance of the competition date.

Immediately after each closing date names will be forwarded to Sam of riders who wish to be included in teams and whose entry cheque has been received! Sam will then advise you of team selection hopefully within a few days of our closing date.

Unfortunately there can be no guarantees of team selection, but the aim is to put into teams all riders who are keen to compete and who are of the required standard for the class . Unfortunately sometimes there may not be a place on a team as we do not always get the exact number of riders for teams of 4 (or 3 if necessary). We may also be limited by the host pony club in the number of teams we are allowed to send to a competition.

Most competitions hold individual classes as well. These can be for riders who want to do 2 classes, riders who do not make the team on that day and riders who do not want to jump in a team or who feel they are not ready to jump in a team.

You will need to look on the host PC website 2/3 days prior to a comp for your times to jump.

Please arrive plenty of time before you are due to jump, with time to course walk. Find Sam or the designated team manager for that day, You will be advised if I am not able to attend.  Sam will be asking and assigning an appropriate person to course walk teams or individuals who need guidance. Please make sure you and your pony and tack are clean and tidy.  Further advice on dress code can be found in the rules and on the main pony club website.

PLEASE NOTE: The rules state the following: If you have any objections, complaints, concerns whilst at an event please bring them to Jane or the designated manager attending, not to the host PC please, this could result in elimination of rider or team. Jane will assess and deal with accordingly.
