New Pony Club rulebooks and vaccination rules for 2020

The Pony Club has now released all of its new rulebooks for 2020. These can be downloaded from the Rule/Rulebooks page of our website – please make sure you read all the rules carefully if you are planning to attend/compete at Pony Club events this year.

The Pony Club has also released new Equine Influenza vaccination guidelines which will apply for 2020. The key new additions are that:

  • At competitions at Area level and above, including Grassroots Regional Championships and the finals of the Winter Series competitions, the most recent booster injection must have been given within the six calendar months prior to the date of the competition.
  • No horse / pony may compete on the same day as a relevant injection is given or on any of the 6 days following such an injection.

Passports will be checked at all Pony Club competitions at Area level or above, and may also be checked at other Pony Club events.

If your horse/pony’s vaccination record does not comply with the new rules then you will not be allowed to compete. We want all of our members to be able to compete without incident, so please take the time now to make sure that your vaccinations and boosters are all up to date.

You can read the full Pony Club vaccination guidelines on the Rule/Rulebooks page, and they are also printed in all of the Pony Club rulebooks for 2020.

Saddlery talk/demo with Vicky Delasalle – 29th August

Vicky has very kindly offered to do a talk and demo at the OS&B Pony Club Rally on the 29th August, and it is definitely not one to miss!

She is a Society of Master Saddlers fitter, and is currently a master saddler at the Royal Mews.

There will be no charge for this as Vicky is kindly donating her time free of charge.

Vicky will be explaining how good fitting saddles and bridles can make a world of difference and you do not need to spend a fortune to achieve this! She will bring a selection of saddles to try on a well-behaved volunteer pony so you can see the difference they make.

She will be letting you loose on some saddles that you can take apart and see what they are made up of, and she is also going to talk about careers in the saddler industry.

It will be great fun, and we hope to see as many of you there as possible! Book in for the rally as usual on the Online Rally Bookings page.
