Peak Camp 2025!

🌟 What a Fantastic Weekend at Somerford Camp!

We had an unforgettable time at our 2025 Summer Camp, based in Block B at Somerford Park. With a full schedule of riding, learning and fun, our members impressed us all with their energy, enthusiasm, and positive attitude.

⭐ Outstanding Coaching & Activities

Campers were treated to top-tier tuition across all disciplines:

  • Cross-country lessons with the brilliant Amy Lennon, who guided riders of all levels with expertise and encouragement.
  • Show jumping and flatwork sessions taught by Chris Barr and Danielle Dawson, whose knowledge and energy made every lesson fun and confidence-building.

🧪 Learning Beyond the Saddle

Campers gained valuable knowledge during a horse weighing and feeding talk by Baileys Horse Feeds. Members were fascinated by the nutrition advice and tips on keeping horses in peak condition—reinforcing the importance of horsemanship beyond riding.

Badge work sessions ran throughout camp, helping members progress toward their next Pony Club achievements with practical sessions on grooming, tack care, and safety.

🤠 Western Night

Saturday night saw the pavilion transformed for a Western-themed social, complete with fabulous cowboy hats, checked shirts, and a bucking bronco. Laughter echoed across the field as each camper gave it a try—but it was Jane who stayed on longest, winning loud applause from everyone!

🏅 Recognition & Farewell

On Sunday afternoon, families gathered for the traditional presentation of certificates and badges. This year the Best Junior and Senior Campers achievements went to Sienna and Holly, recognising them as valued members of our pony club through their actions, effort, and attitude.  And of course, the High Flyer awards, received by 3 members who gracefully dismounted during a ridden lesson.

The team spirit, encouragement and kindness shown by our members all weekend was truly outstanding—thank you to every member and family for making it such a positive experience.
