For each activity on the Calendar, a postcode is given.

If you are unsure of how to find the venue, then please contact your Age Representative or any member of the Committee (see Contacts).

Here are some directions. The venues are in alphabetical order. We have not included directions to well known venues such as Ely Eventing Centre or Horse Heath.

THE PARK, BRENT PELHAM SG9 0AT

(This postcode takes you to the entrance to the Park near the Hunt Kennels.)  When in Brent Pelham, pass the Black Horse pub on your right, after 50m go round the sharp right hand bend, go up the hill for a few hundred metres, pass the kennels and a some cottages on your right, and after a right hand bend the gateway into the Park is on the right.

CHESFIELD SG4 7BN

Chesfield Manor Stables, Manor Farm, Chesfield, Gravely, Herts,

We are not wanting to put you off, but Chesfield is reasonably hard to explain. It is probably best if you study the map before you go and work out your route.  When you get there, there are two entrances. One (on a sharp bend) takes you down a track, and one (approx 100m from the track entrance) takes you into a yard and parking area.  Don’t take the track.

Frenches Farm CM7 4PU

Frenches Farm, Oxen End, Little Bardfield, Essex,

DASSELS BURY SG11 2RW.

by kind permission of Mr & Mrs Guy and Jenny Snell

Dassels Bury is an imposing red brick house right on the on east side of the main road through Dassels – you can’t miss it. Look for the big gates just to the north of the house.

HADHAM LODGE CM23 1JH

by kind permission of Mrs Deidre James.

Coming west from Bishops Stortford.  Leave the bypass on the A120 at the “Tescos” roundabout, heading towards Hertford.  As soon as you join this road, look for a drive on your right (only 100m from the roundabout).  This is the entrance to Hadham Lodge.  Keep going up the avenue and into the yard.Coming East from Little Hadham on the A120, Hadham Lodge is on your left 100m before you join the Bishops Stortford bypass at the “Tescos” roundabout.

HEATH HOUSE, Albury, SG11 2LX

Heath House is 2 miles north of the Little Hadham traffic lights. At the traffic lights, which are on the A120 between Bishops Stortford and Standon, head north towards Albury & the Pelhams.  Go for 2 miles. You will come into the village of Albury.  DO NOT TURN OFF THAT ROAD UNTIL YOU SEE THE CATHERINE WHEEL PUB. (The satnavs LOVE to send people down a treacherous footpath, not terribly suitable for cars). Immediately after the pub, turn right up a tiny dead end lane.  Go 100m then turn right again at the turquoise Heath sign. So now you are going round the heath with the houses on your right & the heath on your left.  Go 300m ahead and then round a sharp left hand bend.  We are the 4th building on the right after the bend – look out for a telegraph pole at the end of the drive.  Call 01279 771141 if you have a problem.

SEVERALS FARM, CB114EY

Severals Farm is situated between the villages of Arkesden & Wickham Bonhunt. You can approach it from either village, just depends which way suits you. The farm is set back up a long drive which goes uphill through an avenue of trees – look for the avenue as you drive. It is about 1/2 mile from each of those villages, on the left if you have come via Arkesden, and on the right if you have come via Wickham Bonhunt. Follow signs for parking when you are there, usually it will be past the stables and on up the track to the top of the hill.

SPARROWS HILL CB11 3TU

There is a roundabout just north of Newport and south of Wendens Ambo. Turn east at this roundabout towards Saffron Walden.  Sparrows Hill is approx 50 m on left after the roundabout.

WALDEGRAVES FARM CB11 3RZ

by kind permission of Karen Fiske.

From Newport heading south.

Leave the village and after approx 1/2 mile turn left to Widdington. (A) Go over the bridge and soon afterwards fork left up a hill (do not go into Widdington).  Continue climbing and the road bends round to the right and then to the left.  The drive to Waldegraves Farm is straight ahead of you on that left bend.

From Stansted Mountfitchet heading north.  Pass through Quendon, then cross over the M11.  Approx 1 mile later, there is a turning to Widdington.  Take that and go from (A) above.

WYDDIAL HALL SG9 0EL

By kind permission of Mr & Mrs Mark Donnor

Turn in to Wyddial from the B1039 – turning is opposite the signs for Anstey Quarry. Follow this road until you see the 30 mph sign – we are on the Right hand side (large black iron gates) opposite wooden gates for Pear Tree Wood.  If coming from Buntingford – follow Wyddial Road through the Village, go past Church on the Left, follow the road around and we are the last turning as you leave the village on the Left.

Parking – follow the drive around past the house to the back opposite the manege and there is a large tarmac area where people can park.
