QUIZ TEAM 2019/20

If anyone is interested in being part of the QHPC quiz teams please contact Linda Chapman. Quiz is a written, mixed-age team competition covering 10 set horsey topics.

It is not hands on with horses, it’s all learning together from books but it’s a great way to meet new people, make friends and have fun learning more about horses.

People interested in being on the team will be expected to commit to regular training in the next few months building up to areas early next year (usually February). Suitable for ages 10+.

Blenhein Eventer Challenge

On Friday 20th September 2019, the QHPC had a team compete in the Dodson & Horrell Pony Club 100cms Eventer Challenge at Blenheim International Horse Trials. The team consisted of Ellie Crabtree, Brooke England, Jade England and Lily Walker. Ellie, Brooke and Jade jumped three superb clear rounds and Lily another super round with just catching a pole so 4 faults. Although as a team they finished on zero, the optimum time was very tight so all incurred a few time penalties which gave the team a total of 11.2 time faults and an 11th place out of 39 teams. An excellent result in a very competitive competition, they all rode beautifully over a tricky course of show jumps and cross country fences and were a credit to their Pony Club. A fabulous day for everyone.

After many successful years of being Chief Instructor and organising Junior Camp, Mrs Julie Mann has decided to step down. We would like to thank Julie very much for her dedication and for making rallies and camps so full of fun as well as educational.

Mrs Natalie Barsby, whom many of you know from rallies and camps, is taking on the role of Chief Instructor and organiser of Junior Camp, and we wish her every success.

Natalie was in the Pony Club from a very young age, and as she got older competed many times at Area level for QHPC. She has a wealth of experience in instructing and competing.

Any queries about rallies or tests should now be directed to Natalie –

Ponies and Horses attending any Pony Club activity should have been vaccinated for flu within the last 12 months. However, many venues used by The Pony Club and other equestrian organisations now require horses and ponies to have had a booster in the last 6 months. This includes Brooksby Equestrian Centre. Please check which applies to the venue or event you are attending.

The Pony Club vaccination rule states that no pony may attend a competition if it has had a booster in the previous 6 days, so timing is key.

If you are attending any QHPC rally / event, please remember to take your passport (with the vaccination entries) as they will be checked

NOTE – RALLY/TRAINING Cancellation policy “No refunds are given within one week of the event”

Please remember to clear your horse’s droppings at any rally, training or other event you attend
