Kate Cook

District Commissioner
Although I was never fortunate enough to own a pony as a child, I have always had a love for horses and all things equestrian. I worked in London for a large publishing company for many years then taught in an inner city primary school. Our pony mad daughters persuaded us to buy a pony, we joined the Pony Club Centre at our livery yard, then moved to NWKPC. When we moved to Norfolk permanently, we joined West Norfolk. What an experience we’ve had! From competing at prestigious venues to making new friends in a new county, Pony Club has opened up some amazing opportunities. Come and join us! Pony Club is what you make it, we are here to help you with your journey.

Janis Young

Chief Instructor and Dressage Trainer
I have been a coach for many years starting at a riding school which included training students for their BHS exams. There I developed a passion for Dressage and worked for an International Dressage rider for several years. I have competed to advanced medium level, worked with event riders up to Badminton/Burghley and an international para rider but enjoy teaching those who are just starting out on their competitive journey. I now specialise in flat work for those who just want to improve themselves and their horse or pony to competition riders up to medium level. I am heavily involved with the Pony Club and enjoy seeing correct training producing results for these young riders. The essence of my training is to develop harmony between horse and rider and with correct training a better way of going and improved paces – no quick fixes!

Lucy Price

Safeguarding Officer and Health & Safety Officer
I spent many happy years as a former West Norfolk Pony Club member. Pony club being the stepping stone to my eventing journey to 4 star level and then becoming a qualified BHS instructor and coach. Now with two boys who have different equestrian interests I want to try and be part of making pony club have something for everyone and hope children have as much fun with their ponies as possible. I also work as a children’s mental health practitioner and so am Safeguarding Officer for West Norfolk Pony Club.

Hannah Whyman-Naveh

Camp Organiser
Unlike many in the equine world, I’ve never wanted to pursue horses as a career. I have adored them as a hobby since I was a child. I got hooked on showing from a young age when my parents bought me a Fell pony. Over the years I have been privileged enough to show at some beautiful venues and qualify for events that have seen me travel up and down the country. In recent years, since becoming a mum, I have hung up my show boots and am now a Pony Club mum through and through. I love being part of the Committee, running rallies and camps, and helping to give children, as well as my own, a great start in the equine community. The Pony Club has such a diverse range of activities, regardless of whether you are competitive or not. It’s just a wonderful club to be a part of.
