The Pony Club offers so many activities both non ridden and ridden and there can be a lot to discover! This page highlights useful information to get started, the Branch Committee are also on hand to help everyone with questions and offer guidance.

Pony Club Rules and Policies

To keep everyone safe and uphold fair sportsmanship it is important to have Rules and Policies for competition and to support Official decision making. We encourage everyone to familiarise themselves with the Rules and the Pony Club Policies. Login into the Resource Hub to find out more.

Parents’ Information

Volunteers and Officials all work together to offer a wealth of opportunities to Members. Parents and Guardians also play a vital role, discover more in the Resource Hub.

Members Insurance

Every Member receives insurance cover from Howden Insurance Brokers Ltd, to protect Members whilst taking part in Pony Club and other equestrian activities. You will find information below about the insurance cover and it is strongly recommended that Parents, Guardians and Members review the information regarding the insurance policy provided.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and The Pony Club take Safeguarding very seriously. The Safeguarding Policy signposts a range of documents, provides guidance and key contacts to support those who may have concerns about a vulnerable child, young person or adult. The Branch Safeguarding Officer is available to discuss immediate concerns and you can visit the Resource Hub to find all the relevant documents.

Correct Dress at Rallies

• Jodhpurs/breeches (beige, navy, brown, black, grey, olive)
• Hat silks – plain black or navy
• Tops to be plain navy or WNPC branded or blue/white shirt and PC tie
• Short boots and chaps or long riding boots
• Hair in hair net – long hair to be put in a bun with hairnet over the top
• Black, brown or navy gloves
• No jewellery – watch acceptable
• No hooded clothing
• PC pink tagged riding hat – Please contact Kate Cook dc.westnorfolk@pcuk.org if you need to have your hat tagged. Hat rules for 2024 HERE
• For XC rallies, compulsory long sleeves either long sleeved shirt/WNPC skin/sweatshirt/camp T-shirt plus body protector – Body protector rules for 2024 HERE

Ponies must be clean and tidy. Tack must be well fitted and clean. Neck straps must be worn if the pony does not wear a martingale.

 

Correct dress at competitions

• Beige jodhpurs/breeches (dark colours are now permitted but less common)
• Tweed jacket with white or blue collared shirt and PC tie, or stock shirt and PC stock
• Black/navy jacket with white collared shirt and PC tie or stock shirt and PC stock
• Short boots and chaps or long riding boots
• Long hair in a hairnet with PC scrunchie – long hair in a bun with hairnet over the top
• Dark gloves to match jacket or white/black for dressage
• Black or navy hat silk to match jacket
• PC badge with appropriate felt (essential for all competitions)
• Body protectors are compulsory for XC and recommended for all other disciplines
•WNPC skin and navy/red quartered hat silk for eventing XC and tetrathlon

Ponies must be clean and tidy with well fitting, clean tack.

Plaited for all area, regional and national competitions. Plaiting at other competitions is at the discretion of the Team Manager or DC.

Remember to check your stirrup irons, there should be 14mm clearance either side of your boots.
