Here at the Wheatland we hold regular rallies, training and events all through the year. We try to put on a variety of different activities so there is always something for everyone. With something going on almost every week and the majority of our activities being suitable for all ages and abilities there is always something you can get involved in. Our programmes are emailed out to our members in our quaterly newsletters as well as being listed on Horse Events our event booking provider. Regular updates, reminders, changes and timings for activities are all posted on our branch Facebook page on a weekly basis. If you are are ever unsure about any of the activities listed, please do feel free to contact a member of the committee who will be more than happy to advise.

Training – We also hold extra training sessions for Dressage, Show Jumping and Eventing leading up to competitions. These sessions tend to be smaller groups focused on preparing members for competitions as well as helping to assess suitability and levels for upcoming events.

NON-RIDDEN RALLIES, TRAINING & FUN EVENTS

Shoot Training – Our Tetrathlon & Triathlon Manager Catrin Sanderson holds Shoot Training sessions at her home for all ages and abilities from those looking to have a go and find out what it’s all about up to those out competeing. Equipment is provided you just have to bring yourselves!

Stable Management – We hold regular stable management sessions where members get the chance to brush up on all elements of horse and pony care from bandaging and plaiting to paddock care and loading. The elements covered in these sessions are also useful for thoose looking to take efficiency tests or get involved in the Horse & Pony Care or Pony Club Quiz competitions.

Fun & Games – Throughout the year we take part in various non ridden fun activities like on foot mounted games, racing tasters, picnics, swimming and visits to the Hunt Kennels. These are open to all and are a great opportunity for members to socialise and have fun.

Socials – Sometimes its nice to just get together for a social occasion so we try to do this a few times a year. Its great not having to worry about getting ponies ready and be able to meet other members and parents in a more sociable setting. Previous activities have included Bowling, dinner and an afternoon at the panto.
