Tetrathlon & Triathlon are multi skilled sports involving Shooting, Swimming, Running & Riding. We have a number of members who take part in both sports throughout the year and is an ideal sport for our younger members to have a go at. Triathlon is great for members who either do not have a horse or pony or who do not ride as their is no riding element involved. Shoot & run training sessions are run throughout the year especially leading up to the competition season.
Tetrathlon is a team and individual competition comprised of Shooting (or bean bag throwing for younger members), Swimming, Running and Riding. Competition levels progress with age and are split .
Classes are arranged as follows:
• Open (25 and Under)
• Intermediate (25 and Under)
• Junior (14 and Under)
• Minimus (11 and Under)
• Tadpoles (9 and Under)
• Beanies (7 and Under)
Triathlon is a Winter sport comprised of Shooting, Swimming and Running. It is open to competitors from 8 years old upwards and is a great introduction to Tetrathlon. There are 3 levels of competition which are: Minimus for the 8-11 year olds, Junior for the 14 and under and Open for all members 25 and under. Each level is split into a boys and a girls competition.
Many branches host competitions throughout the year. The Pony Club Area Tetrathlon competitions are held from May to July in each Pony Club Area. Teams and Individuals that do best at these comeptitions qualify for the Tetrathlon Championships. The Pony Club Tetrathlon Championships, held annually in August, attract several hundred members from across the UK to compeet each year.
Triathlon competitions are held over the winter months with qualifying competitions taking place in each Area and the qualifying members being invited to compete at the finals in March.
