Summer Badge Club – aim to achieve the Blue Cross Equine Welfare badge – awarded to members who have attained the 10 welfare-related badges listed on the syllabus. See link
file:///C:\Users\helen\Downloads\Blue-Cross-Badge-Leaflet-Web-v21.1.1.pdf
The content of some of these badges means they are not all achievable in just one session, particularly some of the harder ‘big’ badges, therefore more sessions are planned later in the year as appropriate. Some members have covered parts of them already during quiz/pony care sessions but for some members it will be new. Individual badges, and ultimately the Blue Cross badge, will only be awarded once the required standard for each badge is achieved meaning for some, topics may need to be revisited/tested over multiple sessions. Some members may already have achieved the badge at previous Badge Clubs but we will ensure they are then introduced to more advanced content whilst keeping them within their age and friendship groups. The content of all badges will be helpful for anyone interested in taking part in the Area Blue Cross Horse & Pony care competition and/or Quiz next year and is also relevant for all test syllabuses E – C+ All Fri eve / day sessions to be held at Minikins yard.
