Area competitions include all disciplines, although PC70 competitions are not National Championships qualifiers and PC70 and  PC80 competitions qualify for the Regional Championships in August at a different venue to the National Champs.

Barbara Birchall selects the team(s) for each discipline to represent our Branch at Area level and some training is given. Attending training is NOT a requirement to be on a team. However it is important that members are experienced and competent at competing at the level & discipline for which they wish to be selected as you will be competing against, in theory, the most competent members from each Branch. It is also essential that you are able and prepared to attend the Championships in August..
Please remember when transporting your pony you should carry your pony’s passport at all times and for Area competitions and above all vaccinations need to be up to date within 6months

The Area info sheet  (see attachment to last newsletter or copy and paste link below or click on link) indicates dates/venue and heights for each discipline for Area and Champs level so obviously you need to be capable of the Championships heights (obviously higher & more technical than Area)

An annual booster is required for all Pony Club events. For any Area and Championships, this must have been given within 6 months of the competition. No horse or pony may compete on the same day as a relevant injection is given or on any of the 6 days following such an injection. Horses  competing at the finals of the Spring Festival and at qualifying competitions for summer championships, including the PC80, must have received a booster within the 6 months +21 days (but not within the 7 days) before arrival at the competition
