Main and Mini Camp 2024

27 members attended Main Camp this year and the weather was kind and everyone had a fabulous time. Members achieved tests and enjoyed evening activities including elements of tetrathlon- shooting, Racing for schools’ demo, a feed and weight talk, movie night and Olympics themed fancy dress with BBQ and performing arts section on the final night.

Many thanks to everyone involved with Main Camp; all our coaches, Sophie Scott Hargreaves, Lizzie Peacock, Sophie Minikin and Sally Peacock for staying over all week, Lucy Devine for taking photos, Jane Minikin for organising all the catering and all the mums for helping throughout the week doing a splendid job. Thank you as always to Barbara for being leader and finally thank you to all our members and ponies for working hard and having fun.
Many Congratulations to Josie Wise who won the Newcomer award, Freya Hewitt who won Senior Camp Cup and Betsy Radcliffe who won the Junior Camp Cup

MINI Camp was held at Allerton Park by kind permission of the Wilson Closes’. 12 members attended who enjoyed flatwork, show jumping, gymkhana games and stable management and more…..

Badges were taught assessed  and awarded, two for every camper. These were chosen for each child and everyone has a different collection of badges. Annabelle Pennock and Bertie Cowton now have 14 each so were awarded their Gold  badge . All these passes are recorded in Pelham,  so at the next Badge Club and next years camp the instructors can plan the weeks sessions [Thank you Sophie]
Every camper also earned a competition rosette for Jumping with Style  and Handy Pony. All tried Mounted Games, Drill Riding, a Country Hack as well as Flat Work and Jumping.
So much crammed into 3 days. Everyone made new friends and the teenagers acquired new admirers who will remember their kind assistance for years to come.
A huge Thank You to the Wilson Close family for hosting camp and allowing the members to enjoy their garden, yard, arena and fields. What lucky children to have such great ponies and have so much fun.
