PONY CLUB TESTS
The Pony Club tests assess stable management and riding. A coloured felt worn under the badge is awarded once the test has been obtained. Although they are not compulsory, members are encouraged to take them as they improve knowledge and riding skills.  The ages at which tests are taken varies although there is a minimum age criteria. As a  guide Pony Club stipulate the following minimum ages for tests and they should be taken in order i.e one cannot be skipped out: E test is taken at mini camp (pale yellow); D test min age 10( yellow); D plus min age 10 (white);C test min age 11 (green); C plus min age 13(pink) and B test (red) min age 15. D and D plus are usually taken at camp but can be taken at other times, they are necessary to proceed to the C test so for members who do not have them and want to move on to the next level, please speak to Sally Peacock.
C test and above require considerable organisation and training so they are done in small groups at several times over the year. Sally contacts members when they at the appropriate stage and she is the person to ask if you want advice on eligibility. Useful resources are the PC Manual of Horsemanship and the  Pony Club website which gives a syllabus, sample questions and other helpful resources.
