To ensure sessions run safely and effectively, we ask all volunteers to follow the guidelines below.

Eligibility

Volunteers must be at least 13 years old.

Helper Numbers

A maximum of two helpers are permitted per rally group.

Lead Rein Sessions

A 1:1 helper-to-rider ratio is required.

Behaviour and Conduct

Volunteers are expected to:

– Avoid using mobile phones during sessions

– Use appropriate and respectful language

– Act as positive role models

– Demonstrate good horse and pony care

– Follow instructions from coaches and organisers

Before and After Sessions

At the beginning of each session:

– Introduce yourself to the instructor

– Ask how you can help

At the end of the session:

– Check back with the instructor

– Confirm any tasks completed

– Help tidy and put away equipment where required

Clothing and Safety

Wear suitable, practical clothing and footwear

Follow all Pony Club safety rules and guidance

Our Volunteers are Leaders

We encourage volunteers to be:

– Reliable and approachable

– Willing to help

– Proactive when appropriate

– Respectful of instructor direction
