Pony Club National Championships – Showjumping

Albrighton Hunt Pony Club was proudly represented at the Pony Club National Championships in the showjumping by Charlotte Power, Katie Markworth, Macy Stokes and Tessa Weston.

The team competition began on Day One, with Macy and Tessa both producing excellent clear rounds. Katie rode positively but was unlucky to catch a couple of poles, while Charlotte and her young pony showed great promise and jumped extremely well despite an unfortunate elimination.

In the second round, Tessa was first to go and completed another strong round with just one pole down. Macy and Olly encountered a difficult line that resulted in a stop, but Macy recovered well and rode positively to complete the remaining fences. Katie then produced a lovely round, only catching a few poles along the way. Charlotte made the sensible decision to save her young pony for another day.

Macy and Tessa returned on Day Two to compete as individuals. Tessa got the day off to a fantastic start with a clear first round. Macy and Olly picked up a few faults.

The second-round course was bigger and more technical, with wider spreads to test both horse and rider. Tessa jumped first and delivered a fantastic round, finishing with just two poles down. Macy then rode Olly with real determination and produced an excellent clear round. Although the faults from the first round meant they were no longer in contention, it was a brilliant way to finish their championship experience.

Everyone had a wonderful time, gained valuable experience and represented Albrighton Hunt Pony Club with determination, sportsmanship and great team spirit. We are incredibly proud of all four riders and their ponies — well done, Charlotte, Katie, Macy and Tessa!
