Area 4 and 5  POLOCROSSE TRAINING

Area 5 Polocrosse are running a polocrosse training day, 10am – 4pm, open to all PC members. The day will be split by ability, with groups for experienced players and complete beginners of all ages.

Beginner sessions are designed to introduce Pony Club members to this exciting sport, with all equipment provided and run by experienced and qualified Polocrosse coaches. The only requirement for your pony is that they be happy in close proximity to others.

This training day will be held at JF Polo Academy – Swinford Stables, Norton’s Ln, Great Barrow CH3 7JZ. The cost for the full day will be £30 per player.

Important Info

  • All players under the age of 18 MUST have a responsible adult on site at all times.
  • This session will be on grass.
  • For training sessions, experienced players and adult players must have sports boots/bandages and overreach boots on all four legs, and a breastplate. These may be borrowed if required. Beginner players may do the same but if is not mandatory for first sessions due to the slower speeds and lower levels of contact.
  • All Pony Club and UK Polocrosse Association requirements will be adhered to regarding COVID-19 rules.

MAY POLOCROSSE TRAINING CAMP 2021
 
Celyn Polocrosse Club is hosting a training weekend at their Backford fields grounds (near Chester and Cheshire Oaks) over the May Bank Holiday weekend: Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd May).
 
The event is open to all UKPA and Pony Club members of all levels and ages, from complete beginner to the more expert.
 
Due to the current climate the training weekend is being run as a Covid secure event, this is in line with UKPA return to play and Pony Club Covid guidelines.
 
  • All horses must be vaccinated for equine flu in line with UKPA/Pony Club requirements. Please ensure you bring your horse’s passport and vaccination record with you.
  • Dogs; please be aware of sheep in fields next to this event and keep dogs on leads and under control.
  • Please ensure you have your own refreshments, food and drink as these will not be available for this camp (shops are nearby).
  • Cancellation: In the event of cancellation of the training for whatever reason, the organisers reserve the right to retain such portion of the fees as necessary to cover any expenses reasonably incurred.
  • All muck to the allocated muck heap only.
  • Please take all rubbish home with you
IMPORTANT – ALL ATTENDEES MUST BE BOOKED IN WITH THE ORGANISER IN ADVANCE TO SUPPORT TRACK AND TRACE.
 
  • Overnight accommodation is on site with horses in your own electric pens.
  • First Aider cover will be on site.
  • There will be limited toilets and horse water on site, but no showers.
  • Please indicate on the booking form all overnight camping details.
Training will take place on Saturday and Sunday with fun chukkas on Sunday afternoon

Three Rallies Rule

The basic rule under PC Rules as per the Handbook (Rule 10.9 page 45) is that for Area Competitions and above, Members must have been to a minimum of three working rallies since the previous 1st July, to be eligible to represent their Branch. Camp counts as one Working Rally.

However the various sports have specific rules that elaborate on this and the rules also have rules for riders and horses/ponies in some cases different or more prescriptive
