Six Pony Club members tried and PASSED their B test RIDING in Radfords on Monday August 30th.

CONGRATULATIONS to Henry Church Huxley

CONGRATULATIONS to Henry Church Huxley (BCH Forest) on passing your “A” Test and with Distinction.

Very well deserved.

A few words from Henry himself to Meg:

“I did it, I passed my A Test with Distinction!

I have been focusing the majority of this summer’s training around preparing for this test; I have used all training that area 5 put on, as well as sourcing a lot myself. I went to Talland for a training day, which was paid for by Area 5, which I then combined with private training with instructors from Talland too. I also visited and rode at many private and competition yards all round the area.

The test was held at Talland, and I rode a variety of different horses on the day. The day was long and busy, but I felt that I had a good rapport with the horses I rode, and the examiners helped ease my nerves.

I would promote doing the A Test to anyone thinking about it, I have loved doing the extensive training that I have done, and I am delighted with the result!

Onwards and upwards!

Thank you for putting so much training on, it definitely helped.”

Henry

B TEST and UCAS

“There are no UCAS points for B test or any other Pony Club tests, and there never has been.

There is mapping between the Pony Club tests and BHS qualifications as shown at http://www.pcuk.org/uploads/tests/The_Pony_Club_Tests__BHS_exams_direct_entry_summary.pdf although this may change following the revamp of the BHS exam system.  Currently the B test  candidates who have achieved the complete B Test and hold the Pony Club Lungeing Certificate or EQL Level 2 lunge a horse under supervision (a unit of the Stage 2 qualification) are eligible to apply for direct entry to BHS Stage 3 and the PTT, so potentially UCAS points are possible this way (EQL Level 3 Certificate in BHS Preliminary Teaching of Horse Riding (QCF) 2017 Tariff score: 16).”
