Three Rallies Rule

The basic rule under PC Rules as per the Handbook (Rule 10.9 page 45) is that for Area Competitions and above, Members must have been to a minimum of three working rallies since the previous 1st July, to be eligible to represent their Branch. Camp counts as one Working Rally.

However the various sports have specific rules that elaborate on this and the rules also have rules for riders and horses/ponies in some cases different or more prescriptive

For 2019 Areas see below :

DRESSAGE

All riders entered must be active Members of the stated Branch or Centre of The Pony Club who have participated at a minimum of three working rallies of this or their previous Branch or Centre since 1st July in  the previous year  i.e. 1st July 2018

All horses and ponies must have genuinely participated at a minimum of three working rallies since 1st July in the previous year, one of which must have been in the current year

NOTE the requirement that in the case of the horse, one of the three rallies must be since 1st January 2019

EVENTING

All riders entered must be active members of the stated Branch or Centre of The Pony Club who have participated at a minimum of three working rallies of this or their previous Branch or Centre since 1st July in the previous year

All horses and ponies must have genuinely participated at a minimum of 3 working rallies since 1st July in the previous year, one of which must have been in the current year, with the current rider as a combination

NOTE again the requirement that one of the three rallies must in the case of the horse be since 1st January 2019 and that one of the rallies must be the combination

Four or five ponies which must have been regularly ridden at a minimum of 3 working rallies of that Branch/Centre by a Member of that Branch/Centre since 1st July of the previous year and one of which must have been since 1st December of the previous year.

NOTE the requirement that one of the three rallies must in the case of the horse be since 1st December 2018. This is because Area Games competitions occur earlier in the year

POLOCROSSE

all riders entered must be active Members of the stated Branch/Centre who have participated at a minimum of three working rallies of this or their previous Branch/Centre since 1st July in the previous year,

Ponies – must have genuinely participated at a minimum of three working rallies since 1st July in the previous year, one of which must have been in the current year, with a Member of The Pony Club

TETRATHLON

All competitors entered are active Members of the stated Branch or Centre of The Pony Club and have participated at a minimum of three working rallies of this or their previous Branch or Centre since 1st July of the preceding year,

Horses/ponies have genuinely participated at a minimum of 3 working rallies since 1st July in the previous year, one of which has been in the current calendar year with the horse and rider as a combination

NOTE again the requirement that one of the three rallies must in the case of the horse be since 1st January 2019 and that one of the rallies must be the combination. The slightly different wording of this rule from the Eventing rule seem to mean that the rally as a combination must be since 1st January 2019
