Area 6 spring festival dressage qualifiers was this weekend and Burton members did really well. For a small club we did brilliantly.
All riders in the top 10 in their sections!!
One members first dressage competition since Spring Festivals in March after horses time out of action and riders injury and they won their class to qualify for the national championships
Another member was doing only their 2nd dressage test together and did amazingly with 67.71 to finish 7th in their section of PC80
The last combination are still new to dressage but growing in confidence and Erin was pleased with her results.

Brilliant result for our quiz teams at Area quiz today. Our mini team came 3rd out of 12 and our junior/senior came 2nd out of 24. Both teams qualified for the Quiz Championships. Well done Georgia for some brilliant training

Hosted at Derby College Broomfield Campus.
Congratulations to our senior Horse & Pony Care team who finished 10th at the Area 6 competition today. Well done Beth, Erin & Georgia.
Georgia was also jointly awarded the outstanding individual commendation.

Dengie National Quiz FINAL
Hosted at Loughborough University.
Well they have finally done it.
Winners of junior/senior quiz National championship 2026.
A fantastic performance by Georgia, Beth, Erin and Elly in beating 35 other teams to become champions. Super proud of them and a huge well done to Georgia for all the training and preparation she has put in for the team.
Beth and Georgia also competed in the senior friendly and Beth’s mixed team came 2nd and Georgia’s mixed team came 4th so again a fantastic result for area 6 pony club.
The minis also competed and showed some brilliant knowledge in their section. Well done Evie, Emily Rose, Pippa and felicity. And they won the fun bingo too!

Mounted Games AREA 6 QUALIFIER
Hosted by Burton pony Club.
A huge well done to our inexperienced senior games team (with 2 juniors) on putting in a sterling performance yesterday. You were sooo supportive of each other and truly were a team! A special Thank You to Pippa for making up the team and I hope you’ve “got the bug” now. Shout out to Isla on her first ever Area comp, we’ll done. Emily Rose, you were such a gutsy rider on your challenging pony and Layla you were the perfect team leader.
Huge congratulations to Nina and Layla for achieving 2nd place in the pairs, missing the trophy by 1 point but qualifying for zones against fierce competition by putting in a brilliant performance. Especially Nina who has been very poorly recently and stepped in at the last minute.
It’s been a pleasure training you all this season you are such a lovely supportive group of kids.

Dressage AREA 6 QUALIFIER
Hosted by Grove pony Club.
Our members were at Area Dressage today representing Burton and they a fine job . Erin had an early test and an eventful start but still finished 9th in the PC70
Beth came 7th in PC 80 and she has qualified for regional championships. Well done Beth .
Lilly turned in 2 solid tests in the novice and intermediate and just missed out on the rosettes. Florence rode her young horse in only its second test and performed well coming 10th. All rode very well and looked beautifully turned out.

Sunday 5th July & Sunday 12th July
Show Jumping & Eventing AREA 6 QUALIFIER
Layla represented the club at Area showjumping completing a green round on her young horse Angel but excellent experience for her. Ceide her other horse had slipped in warn up and after fence one she had to pull up. Fingers crossed she is healing quickly. Well done layla and thank you for representing the club.
Lilly rode at area eventing this weekend in high temperatures on honey at 90 cm. She rode a brilliant dressage test, a cheeky stop showjumping and completed her cross country round a huge track which was causing a lot of issues. Well done Lily.

Sat 18th July
Zones Mounted Games
A huge well done to Nina and Layla on their performance today.
A respectable 10th out of 20 pairs and 2nd place in the tack and turnout. It was quite an achievement considering Nina battled on despite an existing injury and that Layla’s pony is only 5 and in its first season of mounted games.
Lots of promise shown for the future of both combinations!

Pony Club Championships 2026
What a fantastic week it’s been for Burton at the Pony Club Championships! We are incredibly proud of everyone who represented the Branch this week. 
Earlier in the week, Beth and Chloe took on the new Endurostyle Challenge, navigating a 10km course while map reading and tackling a variety of challenges along the way. Although they ultimately had to retire from the competition, it was a brilliant experience for their young horses, who gained so much from taking on something completely new in the Championship environment. A huge well done to you both for giving it a go and taking on the challenge!
Then yesterday, our fabulous Musical Ride Team took centre stage with their performance of Narnia – The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe!
Our 2026 team — Georgia, Izzy, Bel, Chloe, Erin, Sophie, Cara, Ellie, Emily-Rose, Amelie, Maisie and Isla — rode brilliantly and were rewarded with a fantastic 4th place at the Championships!
It was wonderful to hear the audience so enthralled by the theatrics and storytelling. The whole performance was so cleverly brought to life through the riding, choreography, costumes and music, and the team should be incredibly proud of what they achieved.
A huge thank you to Helen and Georgia for once again leading the team this year. We know just how much time, thought and effort goes into putting a Musical Ride together — from the hours of training and choreography to the music, costumes, props and countless little details that make the finished performance so special. Thank you both for everything you have put into giving our members this experience.
And finally, a massive well done to all of our riders and horses, and thank you to all the parents, families and supporters who helped make getting to the Championships possible.
You represented Burton brilliantly and should all be very proud of yourselves!
