Tests and Badges

Introduction to Tests . . .

The Pony Club Training structure encourages members to take tests which enable them to learn progressively about horse and pony care and riding. The tests are taken at recommended ages and are designed with certain objectives in mind – here is an Efficiency Tests Overview. You can get the detail for each syllabus on the Tests and Achievements page.

E, D and D+ are tested within the branch and are usually covered at camp.

C test onwards are tested by examiners outside the branch.  The training and tests are scheduled to be convenient for the members taking the tests.

Through the year there is specific stable management training, depending on interest levels and the needs of members.  Details will appear on the Calendar Page.

. . . and Badges

During camp and at other times of the year there are rallies for members to learn and gain Achievements Badges.  These are very popular and are great for learning ‘bite size’ topics across a range of equine and non-equine topics.

Details of the dozens of individual badges are available on the pony club website Achievement Badges page.
