Junior Camp
ORGANISER: POPPY TUNSTILL – 07866 517130 (poppytunstill@gmail.com)
WHO: Aimed at all children in Year 1 to Year 5 who are riding independently off the lead rein. They must be capable of riding safely in a ride in the open space of Horseheath.
WHEN: Thursday 24th July – Sunday 27th July 2025
WHERE: Horseheath Racecourse.
For those who have not been before Junior camp runs over 5 days at Horseheath. The children will be grouped into rides of 5-6 children of similar ability with an instructor for the week. They will take part in all aspects of ridden activities including flatwork, show jumping, cross country and mounted games and lots of fun unmounted games and activities as well as stable management and working towards the Pony Club tests.
It is a really fun packed week seeing old friends and making new ones culminating in a competition, BBQ and prize giving on the final day.
TO QUALIFY: Each child must attend a minimum of 3 Pony Club rallies 2 of which must be at Horseheath before the 1st July 2024 to qualify. It is very much felt that camp is an integral part of our pony club year rather than a ‘one off’ event and it is imperative that the instructors can see that you will be safe and judge which group to put you in for maximum enjoyment to be had by all. It will only be possible to enter camp when you have attended 3 rallies. There will be no exceptions!
Intermediate Camp
Open to members in Year 6 and above
Monday 28th July – Friday 1st August 2025 at Tattersalls, Newmarket
Intermediate Camp is for children in Year 6 and above. There is no upper age limit. It is a residential camp, held at Tattersalls in Newmarket. We will be riding at Crockfords Stud just over the road, Palace House and we will have a day trip out to do Cross Country at Whitehall Farm, Isleham (which you will need transport for). We also have plenty of unmounted fun, including a trip out, games, swimming, a really fun activity afternoon, BBQ and more! We can’t guarantee the weather but we can guarantee fun, and lots of it both on and off your pony!
Please have a read through of all the information attached below before booking your place via Booking Events on the N&T PC website. Your place is not confirmed until we have received all the attached forms back. You can either post or email them back to me (details on the forms). This year looks to be a bumper year numbers wise, so do make sure you enter early as places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Please also be aware that dropping your child and pony off on the first day is not a quick thing! You will need to stay and help them unload and then there will be a welcome meeting at lunchtime where you will get more details on the XC trip timings and the last day timings amongst other important information. Please allow all morning for this.
To be eligible for camp you and your pony must have done a minimum of 2 rallies together before 1 July and 3 before camp (SJ and XC rallies can count towards this). This is so that we can ensure the instructors know you and your pony and can put you in the ride that you will have the most fun in.
The closing date for entries is 17th May. Entries must be in by then as we will not be able to book additional instructors after this date. If you have any questions at all, do let me know.
