N.B. Anyone who has not reached their 8th birthday by the date of the competition (6.4.2024) may only compete in Classes A and B.

PROTECTIVE OR PRESCRIPTION GLASSES ARE RECOMMENDED FOR SHOOTING AT ALL LEVELS AND ARE MANDATORY FOR ALL SHOOTING AT 7 METRES.

Rosettes to 6th Place in ALL individual classes.

Medals for best Shoot/Bean Bag Throw score, Swim & Run in all classes.

Team rosettes to 3rd place – a team to comprise 3 or 4 competitors from the same Pony Club in the same age group (best three scores to count). Teams can be mixed.

Prize Giving for Triathlon will be at Waltons at the end of the Run phase (all Tet competitors are automatically entered into the Triathlon)

N&T SPRING TRIATHLON/TETRATHLON 2024 RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY In any dispute the decision of The Official Steward shall be final. The Official Steward reserves the right to amend, alter or cancel all or any of the conditions without notice.Rules are in accordance with the Pony Club Tetrathlon Rule Book 2023, a copy of which can be downloaded from www.pcuk.orgStrictly NO dogs allowed Please could ALL competitors check in with the secretary on arrival Shoot targets can be collected from the secretaryCompetitors must be at the start of each event at least 15 minutes before they are due to compete.No person under the age of 18 may be in possession of or carry an air pistol unless in the presence of The Chief Range Officer or Firing Point Steward.Safety flags (safety line can be strimmer cord), must be inserted in all pistols at all times except when the safety flag removal is authorised by the Firing Point Steward. To demonstrate that air guns are unloaded, safety flags (safety lines) must be long enough to extend through the full length of the barrel.Guns must be kept in boxes until instructed otherwise by the shooting steward.Protective or prescription glasses are recommended for the Shoot Phase at all levels and are mandatory for Shooting at 7 metres.Substantial shoes (that do not reach the anklebone but which cover the whole foot – e.g. trainers, must be worn for the Shoot as well as long trousers/track suit bottoms.Competitors must be 8 years old or over on 6/4/2024 to be allowed to Shoot.Beanbags will be judged from where the Velcro attaches to the ‘target’.Scored targets can be collected from the Secretary. These must be checked and signed for before being taken away. No queries can be upheld once targets have been removed. Any targets not removed 1 hour after completion of shooting will be taken as approved..Only one person per competitor allowed ‘poolside’There will be no Diving Blocks used in any Classes.Running will take place at one minute intervals in number order.                                                                 Please bring your own clearly & boldly written run numbers in A5 size, x 2 as well as 8 safety pints to attach them to your run vest.

RIDE PHASE will be run in accordance with Pony Club Tetrathlon Rules 2024. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE TADPOLES (CLASS C & D) WILL RIDE BEFORE THE BEANIES (CLASS A & B) & IN NUMBER ORDER.Competitors in Classes C – J may ride in the class below but will incur 500 penaltiesThis must be declared when entering

N.B. There will be a number of ‘L’ fences in Classes E – JPLEASE SUPPLY YOUR OWN NUMBER BIBS & RIDE NUMBERS (2 x A4) FOR ALL CLASSES A – J INCLUSIVEALL HORSES/PONIES MUST BE FULLY & CORRECTLY VACCINATED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PONY CLUB TETRATHLON RULE BOOK 2024

PASSPORTS WILL BE RANDOMLY CHECKED.  IF YOU DO NOT COMPLY YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPETE AND THERE WILL BE NO REFUND.It is the responsibility of every competitor to ensure that their hat and body protector complies with The Pony Club 2024. Rules and are compulsory for all competitors. These will be checked & any competitor not wearing one that does complies with current Pony Club standards will NOT be able to compete.

If your hat is NOT tagged with the current PINK hat tag please go, unmounted, with your hat to the collecting ring steward.

N.B. NEW BODY PROTECTOR RULE FOR 2024 FOR ALL CLASSES

ALL BODY PROTECTORS MUST MEET BETA 2018 LEVEL 3 STANDARD (BLUE & BLACK LABEL)WHIP RULE:  Please adhere to Pony Club Whip Rules 2023: The whip must be “padded”.  The maximum length of the whip is 70cm and must be no less than 45cm.  Excessive use of the whip anywhere at the venue will result in disqualification.Legal Liability:  Save for the death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers, or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event or The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other person or property whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis.Health & Safety:  Organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present.  For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers and officials and stewards.No horses or ponies must be left unaccompanied at any time.Horseboxes with gas cookers/rings must be used with caution, entirely at the owner’s risk.No person may sit on, or climb, any jump or fence.Entry to the competition is dependent upon and deemed as acceptance of these rulesStrictly NO dogs allowed
