Here is the information about Endurance Riding
How To Qualify
To qualify for the Championships a horse and rider must have successfully completed three rides of the appropriate distance and within the correct speed.
These rides must have been achieved since 1st January and the vetting must be done by the Vet in attendence at the ride or an approved Pony Club Official.
To qualify for the Novice Championships (Level 3) horse and rider must have successfully completed three rides between 20 and 29 km at a speed between 8 and 12 kph.
To qualify for the Intermediate Championships (Level 4) horse and rider must have successfully completed three rides between 30 and 39 km at a speed of between 8 and 15 kph.
To qualify for the Open Championships (Level 5) horse and rider must have successfully completed three rides of 40 km or over at a speed of between 8 and 15 kph.
Issy and Daisy managed a 20km ride last summer with no major issues, so I would think the novice level should be achievable by most that would like to give it a go. The following rides in our area should all have a ride of an appropriate distance within them, with vettings on site too. All of these are in the provisional diary on the Endurance GB website, PC members get to enter the events at the Endurance GB members rate (without having to pay the additional membership). and events can usually be entered fairly close to the actual event, so possibly good if people’s plans change.
