Show Jumping is a sport which tests accuracy, straightness, gymnastic ability and rhythm. Show Jumping is a very popular sport at Berkeley South, enjoyed from the very youngest and most inexperienced members on lead rein up to our oldest or most experienced of members.
We hold numerous training rallies for members of all ages and abilities. These range from rallies for nervous or novice riders who are wanting to train over poles, or small cross poles, up to rallies for our members who are competing on the national stage.
Rallies are held at a variety of locations su
ch as; CCR, Leyland Court, Rectory Farm and Tumpy Green. We also hold pole and grid rallies at locations such as Billow Farm. We hope this supports our members to attend wherever they live within our area. We use a wide variety of coaches to ensure that members can work with coaches who get the best out of them and provide a fun and positive learning experience.
When the weather is in our favour we also hold rallies in the Derby arena at Leyland Court, or on grass at Tumpy Green to support training for members aiming for Area competitions.
Berkeley South is proud of a growing group of members who are enjoying Show Jumping competitively. We would encourage any of our members to try competing as part of their training and development – it is great fun! As well as competitions run by Branches, which cater for members from tiny cross poles and up, there are numerous Area and National competitions within Pony Club.
There are also other team competitions that are run by branches or at events such as the Three Counties Show for members to enjoy being part of a supportive and positive team.
