Plan ahead with the calendar of activities.
Book early as popular rallies fill up very fast. Rally organisers will be able to advise as to whether a particular rally is suitable for your child and it is important to be honest about their ability so that they are put in the right group. Click directly on the activity date to book on via Horse Events. If you have any general questions, please contact our secretary, Helen. Otherwise get in touch with the Rally Organiser about specific events. For Area 9 events/competitions etc, click the button to download the latest edition. Hot Weather advice for rallies & competitions Pony Club activities are running around the country during this period of high temperatures where organisers feel that they can put sufficient provisions in place to mitigate against the forecast hot weather. These provisions include additional water around the site, shortening of competition phases if appropriate and minimising the time on site. Competitors are best placed to know if the conditions will be suitable for their horse or pony, including travel to and from the event. We advise that everyone travels with extra water, buckets and sponges and leave dogs at home if possible. Thank you to all of our hard-working volunteers for the huge amount of careful planning and effort that goes into making events as enjoyable and safe as possible for our members and their horses and ponies. Equine Flu & Strangles Equine Flu and Strangles are prevalent on a national scale currently. Please be sure to bring your own water and grooming kit etc plus hay in the trailer to any events or rallies. Do not share anything horsey unless absolutely necessary. If you can see that any horse or pony on your yard is not well, please do not attend the rally or event. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR HORSE/PONY PASSPORT/S WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES – THERE WILL BE SPOT CHECKS EVERYWHERE YOU GO – AND IT IS A LEGAL REQUIREMENT TO KEEP IT WITH THE HORSE/PONY AT ALL TIMES.
