Camps are held exclusively for each age group of OBHPC members during the summer holidays and for many, it’s the highlight of their Pony Club year. Parents are encouraged to stay and help while their children are at Trotters & Mini Camp (indeed this is required if they are on the lead rein) but for Junior and Senior camps it is a parent-free zone!
All abilities are catered for at each of the camps, and they are great opportunity to for children to get to know other riders of their age, as well other children riding at their level. We encourage all children to go to the camp appropriate to their age however there is some flexibility on age if your child feels they are not yet ready for the next camp, space permitting.
More information will be added as plans are finalised so keep checking back.
IMPORTANT NOTE: PLEASE ENSURE YOUR PONY’S VACCINATIONS ARE UP TO DATE MONTHS BEFORE CAMP! Read the Pony Club Equine Influenza Rules here: https://resources.pcuk.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/The-Pony-Club-Equine-Influenza-VACCINATION-RULE.pdf
We are back at the incredible Wheatlands Equestrian. New stables, two arenas and acres and acres of xc jumps with something for everyone. Sandy soil means ground conditions are excellent. There is a beautiful new club house with lovely showers and loos as well as plenty of space to hang out and where we’ll be dishing up plentiful and delicious home cooked meals every day.
We have a selection of incredible instructors including those well known to many of you. We can cater for all levels and aspirations. We tailor the instruction around your child and why they would like to do. The timetable is flexible depending on how much your child and their horse/pony want to do. Absolutely no pressure! We cater equally for those who want to progress and be competitive as well as those who just want to hang out and have fun with their horse and their friends.
There will be talks and demonstrations in the evenings and over lunch as well as time to chill out with friends.
Cost: £395
If you have any questions, please get in touch with Jess or Katherine.
If you would like to spread the cost of paying for camps in the months leading up to July/August, please fill in the simple Camps payment plan form and start making payments when you are ready. The form gives a guide to the amounts for each camp if you were to start payments in February. If later, please adjust the amount accordingly. It’s essential you use a recognisable reference for each payment, e.g. MiniCamp[child surname].
You will receive a confirmation email with the branch bank details to set up and start payments when it suits you.
Once costs have been confirmed, you will be asked to adjust the final payment (or top up afterwards). We are also listing camps on Horse Events this year and will send out an announcement once they’re live. Based on 2025 camps rates, suggested installments amounts, if payments start in March:
Bursaries are available if there is a financial barrier to attending Summer Camp. Contact Lisa Powell for details.
