Would you like to have a go at Pony Racing? Or experience the thrill of riding on gallops?

We run regular pony racing rallies where you can  take your horse or pony on the gallops. These sessions are suitable for those wanting to get an eventer fit as well as anyone interested in pony racing. They can be used to qualify to take part in a Pony Club Race Day.

The Pony Club run up to 10 Pony Club Pony Race Days across the country for members to take part in with races for ponies that are 128cms and below, 138cms and below and 148cms and below. There are different race categories for different levels of experience. Details of each race day can be seen on the main Pony Club website. Please pay attention to the schedule for each day as they can differ. Children can race from 9 to 16 but must be at least 9 years of age from 1st January of the year they wish to race. Ponies must be aged between 4 and 20 years.

The British Racing School is a centre of excellence within horse racing and has been training young people to excel in the sport from our base in Newmarket, Cambridgeshire for over 40 years.   • A Foundation Course for 16-24 year olds, an apprenticeship programme leading to a paid job in a racing yard (no riding experience necessary) – start dates throughout the year
  • A two-year non-residential course for 16-18 year olds which starts each September
  • A Gap year programme for those finishing their A-Levels in Summer 2026, including a work placement in Australia
