Show jump training starts early in the year for Juniors who are 12 years and under & riding a 14.2hh or under pony and Seniors aged 13 years and over. New members, or current members with new ponies that are unknown to the branch MUST have attended rallies before attending SJ training sessions for assessment.
Training sessions should be attended on the horse or pony with which you intend to be considered for selection. Training is open to all and begins with a ‘taster session’ early in the year.
SJ training is for members to enjoy and improve their SJ at whatever level they are currently at. You will learn skills and techniques for competition riding. Members attending training will have basic jumping skills in place and be out competing at the various local competitions to gain experience.
Members must be committed to attending training sessions and if selected, travelling to various inter-branch competitions around Area 14. You must attend Team Training during the selection phase and in preparation for Area’s. We hope to enter teams in most competitions and ultimately be able to select teams to represent our branch in the Area Show Jumping Finals. It is up to individuals to contact the relevant team manager in order to be considered for training and competitions.
